Lead Software Engineer
Location: Onsite (5 days per week) Employment Type: FullTime Experience Level: Senior / Lead (10-20 years)
Position Overview
We are seeking a Lead Software Engineer who is a true technical leader, not simply a senior developer with a lead title. This role requires a handson engineer with deep experience, strong presence, and the ability to own technical outcomes endtoend, including design decisions, code quality, timelines, and delivery. The ideal candidate is a credible, respected leader who leads by example, codes daily, mentors others, and consistently makes sound technical decisions under pressure-without sacrificing quality.
Key Responsibilities
Technical Leadership & Ownership
- Serve as the technical leader for a small, experienced engineering team
- Own technical outcomes including architecture, design quality, delivery timelines, and maintainability
- Drive best practices around design patterns, code structure, performance, and security
- Partner effectively with architects, product partners, QA, and senior stakeholders
- Make thoughtful, accountable technical decisions aligned with business goals
HandsOn Development
- Write productionquality code daily; this is a primarily handson role
- Balance approximately 80% coding and 20% leadership, adjusting as project needs require
- Design and implement scalable, maintainable solutions across frontend and backend systems
- Review code, guide implementations, and raise overall engineering standards
- Quickly learn and adopt new tools and technologies, including AIenabled development tools
Mentorship & Team Enablement
- Mentor and guide developers through pairing, reviews, and architectural discussions
- Provide clear technical direction without micromanaging
- Foster a culture of accountability, quality, and continuous improvement
- Set a high bar for engineering excellence and professionalism
Technical Requirements
Core Stack
- FrontEnd: Strong JavaScript experience with UI development
- BackEnd: Solid expertise in C# / .NET
NicetoHave Experience
- Modern frontend frameworks (e.g., React)
- Cloud platforms (e.g., Azure)
- DevOps practices (CI/CD pipelines)
- Security fundamentals and secure coding practices
- Experience adopting AIassisted development tools
