Senior Data Analyst (Business & Finance Focus)
Location: Hybrid (Multiple U.S. locations) Employment Type: ContracttoHire Interview Process: Two rounds
Position Overview
We are seeking a Senior Data Analyst with a strong blend of business analysis and data analytics expertise. This role is not purely technical nor purely functional-it requires a datadriven professional who can translate complex datasets into actionable insights, support financial and operational decisionmaking, and collaborate effectively with senior stakeholders. The ideal candidate has extensive experience working in financerelated domains, strong proficiency with enterprise reporting tools, and the ability to operate comfortably in an Agile delivery environment.
Key Responsibilities
Data Analysis & Reporting
- Conduct data mining and analysis to identify trends, correlations, and anomalies
- Organize and transform raw data into clear, meaningful structures for analysis and reporting
- Develop insightful reports and dashboards to support business and finance leadership
- Predict trends related to customer behavior, operational performance, and financial outcomes
- Monitor data quality, validate results, and resolve data integrity issues
Business Partnership & Stakeholder Engagement
- Meet regularly with business and technical stakeholders to review prototypes, findings, and final deliverables
- Translate data insights into actionable business recommendations
- Communicate clearly with senior leaders, technology teams, and external partners
- Gather and document business requirements related to reporting and analytics
Visualization & Documentation
- Create clear, compelling data visualizations using charts, dashboards, and diagrams
- Produce highquality documentation and analytical narratives to support decisionmaking
- Present findings to management in a structured and understandable manner
Process Improvement & Agile Delivery
- Identify opportunities to streamline business and reporting processes through data insights
- Support work planning and tracking using Kanban or Agile methodologies
- Collaborate within Agile or DevOpsoriented teams to deliver iterative improvements
Required Qualifications
Experience & Background
- 6-10 years of experience in data analysis, business analysis, or a hybrid BA/Data Analyst role
- Strong background supporting financerelated data, reporting, or systems
- Proven ability to work with senior stakeholders across business and technology functions
Technical Skills
- Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including:
- VBA and Macros
- Advanced formulas and simulations
- Pivot Tables and Power Pivot
- Data tables and "WhatIf" analysis
- Strong expertise in Power BI, including advanced reporting and dashboard development
- Experience with enterprise reporting systems, including:
- ERPbased reporting tools
- Vendor or workforce management reporting platforms
- Strong SQL or structured data querying experience preferred
Tools & Platforms
- Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Visio, Access, Teams, SharePoint)
- Experience working with ERP and vendor management systems
- Exposure to enterprise financial and procurement platforms preferred
