The BNSF RailwayFinance Departmentprovides innovative strategic solutions and world-class financial services to support BNSF's overall performance. Within the Finance Department, several specialized departments contribute to its overall mission: Controller, Revenue Management, Strategic Sourcing, Tax, Treasury, and Strategic Studies. Each department is vital in managing BNSF's financial health and strategic financial planning. These departments work collaboratively to secure BNSF's economic stability and support its growth and innovation within the railway industry.

Salary Range

  • 3+ years of experience: $87,700-$115,000
  • 5+ years of experience: $101,900-$130,000

These ranges reflect what BNSF Railway reasonably expects to pay for this position, based on the level of the role, scope, and responsibilities. Final compensation and position level will be determined by factors such as job-related skills, experience, and relevant education or training. In addition to base pay and bonus eligibility, BNSF offers a comprehensive benefits package.

Key Responsibilities may include:

This position will work with our stakeholders to deliver on the Strategic Sourcing Vision and create a lower Total Cost of Ownership structure. The role will also play a leadership role in developing and executing supplier management strategies. Successful performance in this role may result in assignments within other purchasing areas.

Sourcingof Corporate Services needed by our HR, Finance, Tax, Legal, Communications, Technical Training, and Government Affairs Departments.

Communicationwith stakeholders and suppliers

Review, edit, and negotiatecontracts

Developmentof sourcing strategies

Facilitatemarket research and perform internal data collection and analytics

Develop and completeRFPs

Establishservice level agreements (SLAs)

Managing relationshipswith suppliers, internal stakeholders, and business partners

Leadsupplier performance reviews

This position will actively participate on cross-functional teams to identify and execute Strategic Sourcing Initiatives for complex commodities and sourcing projects. The position must also provide recommendations on savings opportunities (by modeling economic scenarios for areas of spend), advise on the selection of suppliers, facilitate market research and internal data collection, and analyze supplier technology and supply markets. This role is an individual contributor role.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Able to work in the US without company sponsorship now AND in the future.
  • Bachelor's degree in related field
  • At least a minimum of 3 years of experience in procurement, finance, or information technology

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Master's degree in related field
