Job Type: Short Term Casual Bargaining Unit: Regular/Temporary: Temporary End Date if Temporary: Hours Per Week: 20 Standard Work Schedule: Building: ARB Salary Range: 29.51-29.51 The salary of the finalist selected for this role will be set based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to departmental budgets, qualifications, experience, education, licenses, specialty, and training. Position Summary The Department of Epidemiology at the Mailman School of Public Health is recruiting a non-student research worker to work as part of the Epidemiology Education Team. The role involves working with faculty instructors to prepare courses and provide teaching assistant support prior to and throughout the semester, as well as being available to assist teaching assistants with coursework-related questions. The position also supports the MPH student Applied Practice Experience (APEx) program, including placement coordination and related culminating Master's Student Day events. In addition, the individual will perform other related duties and responsibilities as assigned, including supporting special education initiatives and producing a monthly student-facing newsletter. Responsibilities Assist faculty instructors with course preparation and provide instructional support prior to and throughout the academic semester (20%). Support teaching assistants by responding to coursework-related questions and helping resolve instructional or logistical issues (20%). Coordinate and support the MPH Applied Practice Experience (APEx) program, including student placement activities (20%). Assist in the planning and execution of culminating events, including Master's Student Day (20%). Perform additional related duties as assigned, including supporting special education initiatives and producing a monthly student-facing newsletter (15%). other duties as assigned (5%) Minimum Qualifications A bachelor's degree Preferred Qualifications A master's degree, preferably in Epidemiology or another field of Public Health, and interest in Public Health Education. The successful candidate must possess a high level of initiative and organization, the ability to multitask, and excellent written and oral communication skills. Other critical skills include the ability to anticipate obstacles and proactively and creatively problem-solve, strong interpersonal skills, and flexibility in working with a range of styles and competing demands.
