Job Description

Based in Chicago, New York, or Washington, DC, the Project Manager is responsible for applying project management methodologies to lead and support technology initiatives across the firm. This role partners closely with the CTO, senior leadership, attorneys, and staff to deliver highquality, businessaligned technology projects. The Project Manager serves as the firm's subjectmatter expert on project management processes and tools, providing guidance and support to technology teams and other departments as needed.

  • Under the direction of CTO, identify, implement, and continuously improve project management standards, methods, and procedures across the Information Technology Department.
  • Provide oversight for multiple concurrent and sequential technology projects, ensuring scope, cost, schedule, business objectives, and technical requirements are clearly defined, monitored, and achieved.
  • Define project scope, success criteria, and evaluation measures in collaboration with stakeholders.
  • Develop and maintain detailed project plans, including task sequencing, resource allocation, timelines, and dependencies.
  • Create and execute comprehensive communication plans for all project phases.
  • Review and update project schedules regularly with management and stakeholders to reflect changes and risks.
  • Govern and enforce change control processes related to scope, timeline, cost, resources, and user impact.
  • Ensure appropriate change management practices are in place for initiatives affecting user experience.
  • Monitor project execution, proactively addressing risks, issues, and dependencies to ensure timely, highquality delivery.
  • Provide regular and ad hoc status reports to firm leadership.
  • Conduct postproject reviews and ensure lessons learned are documented and applied to future initiatives.
  • Collaborate with IT senior management and peers to support the delivery of a highquality IT function and technology services to the firm.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong decisionmaking skills with the ability to collaborate with senior leadership on both strategic and tactical initiatives.
  • Exceptional organizational skills, including the ability to marshal resources, budgets, and stakeholder support.
  • Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities with varying scope and complexity.
  • Handson experience with project management tools such as Smartsheet and Microsoft Planner/Teams.
  • Working knowledge of Microsoft 365 and cloudbased (aaS/SaaS) technology models.
  • Strong customerservice orientation with demonstrated ability to anticipate needs and deliver results.
  • High level of initiative, perseverance, and problemsolving capability.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to influence, negotiate, and engage effectively across all organizational levels.
  • Strong interpersonal and organizational awareness, with the ability to navigate complex environments.
  • High attention to detail and strong documentation skills.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in computer science, management information systems, accounting, business, informatics, or a related field, or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
  • PMP certification strongly preferred; ITIL certification desired.
  • Five or more years of experience as a Project Manager with direct oversight of technical projects.
  • Experience implementing and operating within a formal project management methodology.
  • Experience in a professional services or legal environment is a plus.

This is an exempt position. The anticipated good-faith base salary range for this position is:

  • NY: $138,000 to $190,000 per year.

Your exact offer will be based on a variety of factors, including but not limited to, your experience, skills, and overall qualifications. We also review compensation regularly against industry benchmarks and performance outcomes, so you can grow your career here with confidence-knowing your pay recognizes both your impact and our commitment to an equitable approach.

In addition to a competitive base salary, certain positions are eligible for a comprehensive performance-based bonus, payable monthly or annually.
