Department Overview

The Marketing Division is responsible for the sales and retention of new and existing group accounts, maintenance and service of such accounts and upgrading of business to these accounts. It is also responsible for individual, senior products and long term care sales and retention. Sales and product support involve the entire scope of Blue Cross and Blue Shield of Alabama coverage, including health, dental, long term care, life and account-based products. The Marketing Division is also responsible for product development and management, product profitability, advertising, direct marketing, marketing communications and marketing research and development.

Primary Responsibilities

This Administrative Assistant is responsible for providing administrative support to the VP of Marketing as well as the Marketing Department Managers. The incumbent will perform high level administrative duties including but not limited to calendar management, travel arrangements, correspondence and coordinating meetings (onsite and offsite) of different sizes that include both internal associates and external guests. The incumbent is required to maintain confidentially at all times. Activities required by incumbents may vary by departmental needs.

Summary of Qualifications

  • Previous administrative support experience
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills
  • Experience using Microsoft products, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
  • Experience in a customer contact position communicating information
  • Experience organizing and prioritizing tasks
  • Experience working with highly confidential information
  • Experience working under little or no supervision
  • Experience interacting with all levels of staff
  • Previous administrative executive level support experience preferred
  • Strong problem-solving skills preferred
  • Willingness to work in a fast-paced environment preferred
  • Adaptability/flexibility is a plus
Work Location

The work schedule for this position will be full-time onsite.
