Job Overview

The Engineering Manager is responsible for leading a cross-functional team of CAD Designers, Design Engineers, and Materials and Regulatory Specialists to deliver high-quality engineering solutions and CAD designs for new product development initiatives, customer-driven engineering requests, material cost-out, and operational initiatives.
This role serves as a critical interface between Engineering, Operations, Product Management, and Commercial teams-ensuring design execution is prioritized, efficient, and aligned with overall business objectives.
This is a hands-on, player-coach role requiring strong leadership combined with direct technical contribution, including active involvement in CAD design, product design, and program management.

A Day In The Life

* Lead a cross-functional team of Engineers, CAD Designers, and Materials and Compliance Specialists, fostering a culture of technical excellence, innovation, and continuous improvement.
* Establish and enforce department processes that ensure timely and accurate delivery of engineering projects, specifications, drawings, registrations, and BOM updates throughout the product lifecycle.
* Translate business objectives and customer requirements into clear, actionable, and prioritized engineering deliverables.
* Oversee the creation and approval of engineering designs, drawings, 3D models, and technical documentation to support product, customer, and manufacturing requirements.
* Provide hands-on engineering and CAD design support to address workload demands, complex technical challenges, and critical projects.
* Lead teams in the U.S. and India to execute engineering projects and initiatives.
* Identify, implement, and drive adoption of technologies to improve efficiency and quality of design, testing, and prototyping initiatives.
* Comfortably shift between coach and player roles as needed for technical deliverables, including hands-on CAD design, complex technical challenges, and critical projects.
* Provide technical leadership and support for four Business Unit Managers and four manufacturing facilities for new product development, cost-out, and manufacturing initiatives.
* Own Engineering Project initiatives documentation, prioritization, resource allocation strategy and team execution
* Partner with manufacturing facilities to support and lead engineering efforts for cost-out, value engineering, and productivity improvement projects.
* Ensure alignment between engineering designs and manufacturing capabilities, processes, and constraints.
* Drive continuous improvement in management processes to reduce errors, rework, and production disruptions.
* Identify and recommend training as appropriate to enhance team skills for direct contribution in the role and professional development

What will help you thrive in this role?

Required
* Demonstrated hands-on CAD experience with the ability to create, review, and modify designs (SolidWorks, AutoCAD, or similar).
* Bachelor's degree in engineering (Mechanical, Electrical, or related discipline).
* Minimum of 7 years of engineering experience in a manufacturing or industrial environment.
* Minimum of 3 years of experience leading engineers, drafters, designers, or technical teams.
* Proven ability to manage multiple projects and competing priorities effectively.
Preferred
* Program and project management experience.
* Familiarity with PLM and ERP systems and configuration management.
* Experience with Engineering Service Requests/ Change Orders, new product development, BOM
* Experience supporting product compliance, certification, and regulatory processes.
