Job Purpose

Responsible for the planning, delivery, management and governance of the Electric Complex Capital Projects to ensure they are developed in a least cost, fit for purpose manner in order to improve long term project robustness, requirements, costs and timescales.

  • Ensure Electric projects adhere to the Capital Delivery process for the timely creation and approval of the Project Execution Plan which includes preliminary engineering, baseline schedule, detailed cost estimate, risk profile and resource strategy.
  • Assemble cross functional project team to establish development and design requirements, milestones and affordability ceilings while driving adherence of the frameworks, policies, procedures, controls and reporting necessary to drive an efficient and effective approach to project development.
  • Work closely with SHE in order to identify and respond appropriately to any potential hazards, incidents or circumstances that impact the safety, well being and working environment of any complex construction projects.
  • Facilitate and encourage the introduction of new technologies and innovative solutions to improve the delivery of Electric capital projects safely, on time, and in accordance with regulations, policies and procedures.
  • Review project reports and performance metrics in order to monitor progress according to plan, guide the resolution of any major issues and provide timely up.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in an engineering discipline required, with 5 years of relevant experience in project management, engineering, and construction within utility substation and line construction operations.

* 5+ years experience within the electric utility sector in complex project management, engineering, contracts, construction, or operations required.

* 5+ years of detailed project financial forecasting and reporting preferred.

* 5+ years of managing, coaching, and leading teams in a matrix organization required

* 5+ years experience presenting to executives preferred

* Strong skills in: negotiations, presentation, construction management, interpersonal & written communication, cost forecasting, stakeholder management, and critical analysis required.

* Experience with Primavera P6, Procore, Powerplan, Microsoft Office, Power BI, SharePoint, and MS Teams required

* Exhibit high personal standards of commitment and integrity required

* Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) or Certified Project Management Professional (PMP) preferred

* Engineer in Training (EIT) or Professional Engineer license (PE) preferred
