What You Will Do:



The Cardiovascular Surgical Intensive Care Unit (CVSICU) is an 18 bed unit that provides care for patients who are recovering from cardiac surgery, cardiac transplantation, lung transplantation, the placement of ventricular assist devices, and other complex procedures. Patients are admitted to the unit directly from the operating room, other units and departments, and from other hospitals. It is a very fast-paced unit driven through teamwork and collaboration within a highly competent multidisciplinary team to provide the best care possible to this specialized patient population. We pride ourselves on training the best of the best in a learning environment where our team can develop and grow. The manager oversees operations, budget and staffing, and is responsible for planning, directing and evaluating nursing care, ensuring assures adherence to Hospital policies and procedures while supporting the organization's mission and vision. This role is also accountable for maintaining high-quality patient care and driving continuous performance improvement through clinical leadership, staff development, education, and collaboration.



Who Should Apply:




  • Master of Nursing (MSN) (Required). Applicants with a Baccalaureate degree in nursing (BSN) will be considered. Per nursing guidelines, must matriculate into a Master's of Nursing (MSN) program. One year of relevant education may be substituted for one year of required work experience.
  • Minimum of 7 Years of Experience in clinical nursing (Required); registered nursing or nursing leadership experience in an Surgical Intensive Care Unit (SICU) strongly preferred.
  • Previous clinical management experience strongly preferred.
  • Experience navigating rapidly changing situations, from evolving patient needs to technological advancements, by remaining flexible, continuously learning, embracing new challenges, and quickly recovering from setbacks.
  • Advanced knowledge of aligned field and process in order to effectively manage operations.
  • Current Maryland RN license required.
  • Current CPR certification required.

Salary Range: Minimum 56.34/hour - Maximum 87.32/hour. Compensation will be commensurate with equity and experience for roles of similar scope and responsibility. In cases where the range is displayed as a $0 amount, salary discussions will occur during candidate screening calls, before any subsequent compensation discussion is held between the candidate and any hiring authority.
