We are seeking an Urgent Care Physician to provide high-quality, patient-centered care across our urgent care locations in Sumter and Manning, South Carolina. What You'll Do

As an Urgent Care Physician, you will:

  • Evaluate, diagnose, and treat a wide range of non-emergent illnesses and injuries
  • Perform minor procedures and interpret diagnostic testing
  • Develop treatment plans and provide follow-up recommendations
  • Prescribe medications and therapies as appropriate
  • Coordinate care with specialists and other healthcare providers
  • Collaborate with APPs and clinical care teams
  • Maintain timely and accurate EMR documentation
  • Participate in quality improvement initiatives and clinical best practices
  • Support provider onboarding, education, and clinical operations when needed
Schedule & Practice Highlights
  • Urgent Care centers are open 7 days per week
  • Monday-Friday: 7:30 AM to 6:00 PM
  • Saturday-Sunday: 7:30 AM to 5:00 PM
  • Physicians work 13 shifts per month
  • Rotating coverage between Sumter and Manning locations
  • Opportunity to pick up additional shifts for supplemental compensation
  • Ability to expand practice involvement through primary care opportunities

Qualifications

Required

  • M.D. or D.O. from an accredited medical school
  • Board Certification in Emergency Medicine, Family Medicine, Internal Medicine, or related specialty
  • Active South Carolina medical license or ability to obtain
  • Active DEA license
  • Ability to obtain ACLS and BLS certification within 90 days of employment
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office applications

Preferred

  • Experience utilizing electronic medical record systems
  • Knowledge of urgent care clinical protocols and procedures
  • Familiarity with OSHA and HIPAA requirements
  • Commitment to quality, safety, and patient-centered care

The salary range for this role is $231,500 to $402,000 annually based on full-time employment. Pay is based on several factors including but not limited to local labor markets, education, work experience, certifications, etc. UnitedHealth Group complies with all minimum wage laws as applicable.
