Employees of UNCA are provided with a comprehensive benefits package as well as other resources, policies and programs to ensure a happy and healthy work/life balance. Benefit eligible employees have access to dental, vision and health insurance plans - eligibility begins on the first of the month following date of hire. Retirement plan contributions begin on the eligibility date following election and include employer contributions for either a defined contribution or a defined benefit plan. Typical hours are Monday - Friday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. Occasional evening hours are required.

The employee in this position provides professional nursing care and treatment to students in the UNC Asheville Health and Counseling Center. The employee will conduct needs assessments, develop and implement treatment plans, and provide education to students.

License to practice as a Registered Nurse in the State of North Carolina.

Associates or Bachelor's degree in Nursing with 1-3 years' experience providing nursing care to individuals in the 16-30 year old range.

Ability to provide nursing care which includes assessment and triage, carrying out provider orders, administering injections, performing venipuncture, collecting and processing of specimens, and completing documentation in the electronic medical record.

Ability to provide nursing care both face-to-face and virtually to students.

Ability to work effectively within an interdisciplinary team by demonstrating skills related to time management, critical thinking, and communication.

BLS certification.
