System Nursing Orientation Clinical Educator (RN)

Inova Nursing Professional Development is looking for an RN Clinical Educator to oversee System Nursing Orientation and student placement.

This role will be the face of Inova Nursing Orientation, facilitating RN Orientation for newly hired RN's and partnering with admin staff to place student RN's in the system for clinicals.

Inova Nursing's Professional Development (INPD) supports all nursing personnel with educational needs, including initial orientation and onboarding. Specialty onboarding courses are provided to novice nurses or advanced beginners who are transitioning to a new specialty area. Programming consists of blended learning to include classroom, simulation and online modules provided by specialty organizations

Clinical Educator Job Responsibilities:

• Utilizes system strategies and tools to assess the competency of new nursing staff members while focusing on quality of care and patient safety goals.
• Integrates theoretical knowledge, evidence-based principles and clinical nursing expertise into educational experiences for both new and experienced team members.
• Prepares annual self-development plans, sets professional goals and seek opportunities for achieving them.
• Contributes to quality and safety initiatives across the organization.

Hours: Full-time, M-F (regular office hours, with some flexibility as needed based on department needs)

Location: INPD Department in Fairview Park, Falls Church, VA

Minimum Qualifications:

• Education: Master's Degree or BSN and enrolled in Master's program upon start. If RN has a BSN and enrolled in Master's program, RN must meet with their Nurse Leader within 3 months to conduct the following:
  1. Provide a written plan with anticipated Masters completion date
  2. Submit a review of transcripts from the school indicating the required pre-requisites and timeline for taking the courses

  3. Complete Masters within 3 years of start date.

• Experience: 2 years of progressive experience in nursing in designated specialty; 3 months of experience serving as preceptor
• Certification: BLS from the American Heart Association; Licensed or eligible for licensure in the Commonwealth of Virginia as a Registered Nurse or an active multi-state RN License.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Experience managing projects working with multidisciplinary teams/departments
• Experience implementing projects from start to finish
