You'll work closely with staff to maintain high standards while contributing to a respectful, team-oriented environment.


Minimum Qualifications

Education


Ability to provide instructions and maintain records, generally acquired through a partial high school education.



Experience


Work requires two years of cleaning or related experience necessary to obtain knowledge of scope of housekeeping unit operations, or 2 years as a lead worker or acting as supervisor. Familiar with accepted supervisory and personnel practices and standards. OR AN EQUIVALENT COMBINATION OF RELEVANT EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE

In this role, you'll step into leadership responsibilities that ensure daily operations run smoothly-especially in the absence of the Senior Housekeeping Supervisor.


What You'll Do:


  • Conduct inspections, monitor performance, and maintain records, equipment, and supplies.
  • Establish and maintain housekeeping schedules and make work assignments across assigned service areas.
  • Conduct comprehensive inspections to ensure completion of work assignments.
  • Ensure assignments are properly staffed and that employees have adequate supplies and equipment.
  • Monitor employee performance, determine when disciplinary action is appropriate, and ensure proper training of new and existing personnel.
  • Discuss general housekeeping procedures with personnel in assigned areas.
  • Perform other related duties incidental to the work described for this classification.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $18.00 to USD $26.67. Duke University considers factors such as (but not limited to) scope and responsibilities of the position; candidate's work experience, education/training, and key skills; internal peer equity; as well as market and organizational considerations when extending an offer.
