Position Summary

The Project Assistant (level 8) for the Employer Engagement team plays a critical role in the planning, coordination, and execution of Fuqua's recruiting events and interview programs. Annually, Fuqua facilitates more than 200 recruiting events of varying scale-from individual employer presentations hosted on campus to networking nights and multi-employer events, office hours as well as interviews. These efforts support a diverse set of employers recruiting across Fuqua's graduate business programs.

This position is an integral member of the Career Management Center (CMC) and reports to the Associate Director of Employer Engagement and Account Management. The Project Assistant collaborates closely with the broader CMC team and engages regularly with internal and external stakeholders.

Skills, Qualifications, and Requirements



  • Bachelor's degree preferred. Equivalent combination of education and relevant experience will be considered.
  • Typically requires 2-3 years of relevant experience supporting office operations, event coordination, or administrative functions.
  • Excellent organizational skills with strong attention to detail and follow-through.
  • Strong technical proficiency, including experience with database systems, Microsoft Excel, and standard business communication tools.
  • Demonstrated interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to effectively engage a wide range of stakeholders.
  • Self-starter with the ability to take initiative, work independently, and escalate issues when appropriate.
  • Adaptable and flexible, with comfort operating in a dynamic, evolving environment and managing multiple priorities.
  • Willingness to work flexible hours, including evenings and occasionally early mornings, particularly during peak recruiting cycles.
  • Ability to occasionally lift and move materials weighing up to 40 lbs.


Representative Duties and Responsibilities

Support the planning, coordination, and execution of a high volume of recruiting activities and employer engagement initiatives.

Event Logistics and Employer Engagement



  • Coordinate materials and logistics in preparation for CMC-facilitated recruiting events and interviews.
  • Submit room reservations and approve student requests for on campus employer engagement through the Event Management System.
  • Provide operational and logistical support to the Employer Engagement team and Career Service Specialists, particularly during peak recruiting cycles.
  • Process job postings by reviewing and approving online submissions, entering externally submitted postings, and following up with recruiters and internal stakeholders as needed.


Recruiting Operations and Administrative Responsibilities



  • Provide general administrative support and contribute to special projects aligned with the CMC's strategic priorities.
  • Staff the CMC Information Desk at scheduled times and provide additional coverage as needed in coordination with the Assistant Director for Business Operations.
  • Oversee the daily operations and scheduling of the CMC Interview Suite.
  • Support the hiring and training of the Employer Ambassador Team.

Anticipated Pay Range: Duke University provides an annual base salary range for this position as USD $18.92 to USD $28.09.
