TITLE: Project Manager 2

DEPARTMENT: IT

STATUS: Full-time, Exempt

SALARY: $80,000 - $90,000

THE SALVATION ARMY MISSION:

MAJOR FUNCTION:

Responsible for leading technical projects of medium to large scope and complexity. Facilitates effective and regular communication, acting as a liaison, between key stakeholders at all command levels and IT specialists across IT teams.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

Project Management (80%)



  • Communicate with project stakeholders, IT staff, users, and vendors as needed.
  • Lead projects involving multiple IT vertical teams.
  • Develop, and process approval, of project budget.
  • Maintain budget control. Advise stakeholders and Director of Project Management of potential overruns and issues.
  • Write Proposals and Requests for Proposals if called for by project.
  • Manage bidding / quote process including any internal approval processes.
  • Document project progress and status, staying prepared to offer reports to Director of Project Management on short notice.
  • Manage accountability benchmarks.
  • Write user documentation, user manuals, and reference guides if called for by the project.
  • Provide or arrange training for users, regardless of location, as appropriate for the project.
  • Proactively communicate any and all changes created by the project to all of the users that will be affected in a timely manner.
  • Work with staff members from THQ/DHQ departments frequently.
  • Manage a volume of projects simultaneously to completion.


Project Support (20%)



  • As directed, support projects assigned to others, communicating frequently on areas of needed support.
  • Maintain records of meetings and conference calls as requested.
  • Support the assigned project lead with any of the steps needed in the project management process under direction.


KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES

  • Highly organized with the ability to multi-task.
  • Detail oriented along with the ability to set and respect priorities.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of desktop hardware and software at an advanced user level.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of general inter-relationships between various departments within the organization.
  • Working knowledge of internal Salvation Army procedures related to business processes.
  • Demonstrated understanding of the design, implementation, and use of relational database systems and related user interfaces.
  • Sensitive to users' needs and possess a customer service mindset.
  • Ability to learn new technologies and processes quickly.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and maintain poise under pressure.
  • Ability to train users and develop user documentation.
  • Ability to work independently most of the time.
  • Ability to build a good working relationship with outside vendors/tech partners.


EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION:



  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification.
  • Competent in the Microsoft 365 application suite.
  • Five years of project management experience.
