Job Description




As a Security Officer - Afternoon Residential Patrol Driver in San Diego, CA, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Residential, and more. Join Allied Universal as an Unarmed Patrol Officer at a residential location, where you will help monitor and patrol the community, remain visible to help reduce security-related incidents, and deliver outstanding customer service and communication. This is a driving post, offering the opportunity to support residents and visitors while working with a team that values agility, reliability, innovation, and integrity.

What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to residents, guests, and/or visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access-related protocols, and when appropriate, emergency response activities.
  • Respond to incidents, disturbances, and/or critical situations in a calm, professional, problem-solving manner, documenting relevant details and communicating observations according to site expectations.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols throughout the residential location, including common areas, exterior grounds, parking areas, and perimeter spaces, helping to identify unusual activity and/or security-related concerns.
  • Monitor entry points, amenity areas, and resident-focused spaces to help support community rules, report maintenance-related issues, and address questions or concerns with professionalism.
  • Assist with observing and reporting suspicious behavior, unauthorized persons, and/or policy violations, while maintaining visible presence and providing courteous interaction throughout the property.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A valid driver's license is required in accordance with Allied Universal driver policy requirements.
  • Customer service experience is preferred.
  • Being comfortable using a computer or tablet is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
