About the Role

As a Repair Technician - Medical Camera Systems, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, reliability, and performance of KARL STORZ imaging systems. You will be responsible for diagnosing, repairing, and testing advanced medical camera equipment-including CCUs, camera heads, adapters, and video capture devices. This role combines hands-on technical work with analytical troubleshooting and documentation, supporting both customer satisfaction and continuous product improvement. Your work directly contributes to maintaining the high standards expected in regulated medical device environments.

What You'll Do
  • Perform incoming inspection, troubleshooting, repair, and final testing of medical camera systems using specialized video test equipment (oscilloscopes, vector scopes, etc.)
  • Diagnose and repair issues at the sub-assembly level, including replacing PWBs, cables, power supplies, optical/mechanical components, and performing software installations
  • Accurately document all repair activity in SAP, including diagnostics, parts replaced, defect codes, and tracking information
  • Execute SAP transactions such as data entry, stock transfers, spare parts management, and review of bills of materials and engineering changes
  • Implement engineering changes and service rework instructions while identifying opportunities for product and process improvement
What You Bring
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; 3-5 years of experience in electronics, optical/mechanical assembly, or repair
  • Hands-on troubleshooting experience with electronic or imaging equipment at the component or sub-assembly level
  • Familiarity with video test equipment (e.g., oscilloscopes) and basic soldering skills
  • Strong attention to detail with the ability to follow technical assembly and rework instructions
  • Computer proficiency with data entry and general systems; SAP experience preferred

Nice to Have:

  • Experience in final inspection or testing environments
  • Understanding of medical device quality standards (FDA 21 CFR Part 820, ISO 13485, ISO 9001)
