Overview

The Concept Formulation (CONFORM) team leads EB's concept development work, including research and development (R&D) efforts, payload integration, capability insertion studies, warfare analysis, and the SSN(X) program.

We are seeking a technically strong, analytically driven engineer who wants to join our R&D team. This role blends engineering understanding with program coordination, budget management, and long-term strategic thinking. Initial responsibilities will focus on learning EB's R&D ecosystem and supporting portfolio tracking; with growth, this role will transition into owning portions of the internal and external R&D portfolio.

Key Responsibilities:

    Support portfolio management of independent R&D (IR&D), university research collaborations, National Institute for Undersea Vehicle Technology (NIUVT), small business innovation research (SBIR), and/or other initiatives
  • Build, maintain, and align R&D portfolios, spend plans, budgets, roadmaps, and technical progress tracking
  • Coordinate with engineering departments to integrate technical advancements
  • Facilitate cross-functional technical meetings; ensure deliverables, risks, cost, and schedule are fully visible and understood
  • Prepare clear internal documentation, presentations, and portfolio summaries for leadership
  • Identify opportunities for capability insertion and future platform integration
  • Grow toward independently managing projects and representing R&D strategy within CONFORM
  • Minimal local travel expected


Qualifications

Required:

  • Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering
  • 2+ years of engineering or program office experience
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a Secret security clearance through the Department of Defense

Preferred:

  • Experience with R&D
  • Experience working with different departments


Skills

  • Strong communication and organizational skills
  • Interest in working in a dynamic, fast-paced environment
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, Project)
  • Strong analytical thinking, communication skills, and ability to translate technical content for mixed audiences
  • Demonstrated ability to coordinate multi-disciplinary teams and track technical projects
