BASIC FUNCTION:

The Corporate Banking Officer manages an assigned portfolio of account relationships, the majority consisting of complex, middle and large-market customers, concentrated in the Protein and Grain market segments. This role will work closely with the Agribusiness (AGB) and Corporate Lending teams to formulate solutions for the more complex financing needs of such customers andwill provide functional guidance to Underwriters, Closing and Servicing Specialists. The Corporate Banking Officer will assist the Protein and Grain team with implementation of marketing plans to capitalize on marketing opportunities within designated industry segments focusing on customer relationship management, team leadership and targeted business development efforts. The Corporate Banking Officer will support the achievement of profitability and credit quality goals of the Corporate Banking Group.

ESSENTIAL DUTIES:

  • Manages the day-to-day customer relationship of assigned complex, highly visible accounts. Regularly meets with the customer to keep abreast of information concerning their businesses, needs, strategic direction, and earnings to determine business opportunities. Works with the team in solutioning for customer needs.

  • Work with Corporate Lending Structuring and Sales in structuring credit facilities for syndication, development of a syndication strategy and assists in the sales effort.

  • Manages the day-to-day relationships of assigned accounts originated by the Association and syndicated amongst Farm Credit partners, commercial banks and institutional investors.

  • Assists in and supports other AGB Relationship Managers in managing accounts specific to the Protein and Grain market segment that are purchased from other Farm Credit partners, commercial banks and institutional investors.

  • Maintains expertise in assigned market segment, keeping abreast of industry trends and competition in the market. Responsibilities include, but are not limited to, attending industry events and tradeshows.

  • Guides and participates in the credit analysis function in the development and analysis of financialdata for new or renewed loans. Prepares and edits information memorandums, term sheets and related documents. Make decisions on loan requests, structure and pricing within prescribed lending limits. Formulates recommendations and presents same to the applicable Credit Approver or Loan Committee.

  • In conjunction with the origination and servicing of credit facilities, performs credit administration, account servicing, validation and monitoring of periodic financial information and review of loan documents and deliverables.

  • Provide functional guidance to Underwriters, Closing and Servicing Specialists on policies, procedures and credit risk assessment.

  • Follows current outstanding loans in assigned portfolio to ensure complete conformity with terms and covenants. Through ongoing review and analysis maintain awareness of developing trends.

  • Studies industrial, commercial, and financial situations relating to new or existing businesses as requested. Makes recommendations on financial and organization structure, locations, and on other business-related issues.

  • Develops and implements a Business Development Plan (BDP) in coordination with the assigned portfolio and assists team in BDP execution, focused on potential prospects and assigned existing customers with the goal ofretaining and increasing existing business and developing new business opportunities.

  • Safely operates and maintains Association provided vehicle.

  • Travels to customer meetings, industry events, and company sponsored events as required/ requested.

  • Performs other duties assigned.

LEVELS OF SUPERVISION EXERCISED AND RECEIVED:

In the function as a Corporate Banking Officer, the incumbent will provide guidance to Underwriters and Closing and Servicing Specialists within assigned portfolio. They will make independent decisions and provide sales support to lead Relationship Managers, as assigned and originate new business relationships. They will work under the administrative direction of the Head of Agribusiness - Protein and Grain.

TYPICAL EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Bachelors' degree with emphasis on agriculture, business administration, or equivalent major, is required.

  • Five (5) years of progressively responsible experience in credit analysis, underwriting, or risk management within banking or agricultural lending is required.

  • Demonstrated strong communication skills, with the ability to effectively partner with relationship managers, borrowers, and internal stakeholders, and to clearly articulate credit recommendations both verbally and in writing.

  • Clean driving record and valid state issued drivers' license is required.

  • Experience using PC, word processing, and electronic spreadsheet software is required. Experience with CRM platforms preferred.

  • Must be proficient in organizing and prioritizing work to meet deadlines.

  • Desire and ability to travel, as required by the position, is required.

  • This position is ideally based in Greeley, CO or Garden City, KS. Qualified remote candidates will be considered, with the expectation of additional travel.

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Must have the ability to perform basic office tasks, work in an office or outdoor setting and be able to sit at a desk and work at a computer for an extended period of time. This job regularly requires the employee to visit job sites and must be able to walk, sit, crouch, kneel, crawl, reach and be able to lift up to 25 pounds. Ability to navigate around construction equipment and business materials is required. Must have the ability to walk for some distance, more than a mile, during or getting to an inspection. Must have strong written and verbal communication skills to adequately convey ideas and work well with a team. Ability to talk and hear, sit and use their hands and fingers, and reach in all directions is essential in performance of the job. Travel required and must have a valid C Class driver's license. Work during established business hours and may require occasional weekend and/or evening work.

PART-TIME REMOTE/HYBRID: These employees will work partly remote and partly onsite. Part-time remote employees will work with their managers to determine when and how often they are needed onsite.

PAY RANGE:

Minimum $132,773.26 - Max $225,714.55 Annual

This range is reflective of the national salary average for this position and will be adjusted using geographic variance for physical location of the hired candidate. American AgCredit may compensate outside of the salary range for bona fide reasons not related to membership in a protected class.

  • Reflected is the national base pay range and title offered for this job at the current level.

  • Compensation, title, and job level may be adjusted based on candidate qualifications including but not limited to achievements, skills, experience, or work location.

  • Salary offered, within the applicable range, is one component of the total rewards package offered to candidates.
