The Washington College Gibson Center of the Arts seeks a collaborative, organized, and technically skilled Production Supervisor to oversee technical and front of house operations at a multi-venue performing arts center within a small liberal arts college. The Gibson Center comprises a 420-seat proscenium theater, a 175-seat black box theater, and a 210-seat recital hall, serving academic programs, guest artists, student organizations, and campus and community events.

Essential Functions:



  • Responsible for coordinating, supervising, and executing the technical and production needs of all events within the facility.
  • Oversees lighting, sound, projection and visual systems, stage equipment, and related technical infrastructure.
  • Supporting building operations in coordination with campus facilities staff.
  • Play a central role in student mentorship, supervising student employees and providing training in theatrical & concert productions, equipment operation, and workplace safety.


Qualifications - Required:



  • Minimum of an Associate of Arts or Associate of Science AND a minimum of five years of experience in performing arts production, including lighting, sound, staging, and event support.
  • Knowledge of lighting design, theatrical lighting systems, sound design, audio engineering, projection systems, and stage operations.
  • Experience supervising and training student workers, interns, or production crews.
  • Knowledge of theatrical rigging and stage safety practices.
  • Strong organizational, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
  • Ability to work evenings and weekends as required by performance and event schedules.


Qualifications - Preferred:




  • Experience working in a multi-theater performing arts center
  • Experience interpreting technical riders and advancing productions for theatrical, concert, and live event presentations.
  • Familiarity with theatrical power distribution, ETC lighting systems, DMX networking, Behringer digital audio consoles, Theater Mix, QLab, and related production technologies.
  • Experience directing and operating live-streamed and hybrid events, including multicamera switching, video routing, recording, encoding, and broadcast workflows.
  • Experience creating and maintaining technical documentation, including signal-flow diagrams, rep plots, inventories, cue sheets, system maps, and production packets.
  • Ability to troubleshoot complex technical systems under live performance conditions with minimal interruption to production schedules.
