Description

This position is located in Columbia, Maryland with other locations in surrounding counties throughout central and southern Maryland.

This role follows a hybrid work model, combining communitybased, inperson services with remote responsibilities such as documentation, data review, care coordination, and virtual consultation when appropriate and allowable under DDA requirements.

The position integrates MANDT System principles to promote relationshipbased support, emotional regulation, crisis prevention, and safety for individuals and staff.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

Behavioral Assessment & Intervention



  • Conduct Functional Behavior Assessments (FBAs) and other required clinical assessments in accordance with DDA and Medicaid waiver requirements, utilizing inperson and approved virtual methods as appropriate.
  • Develop, implement, and revise PersonCentered Behavior Support Plans (BSPs) incorporating Positive Behavior Supports (PBS) and MANDT principles.
  • Ensure all interventions emphasize prevention, skill development, dignity, and leastrestrictive alternatives, avoiding prohibited or aversive practices.
  • Collect, analyze, and interpret behavioral data to inform clinical decisionmaking and improve outcomes and quality of life.


SafetyBased Practices



  • Apply MANDT System principles, including building healthy relationships, emotional response management, and crisis deescalation.
  • Support staff in identifying precursors to behavioral escalation and implementing preventive and proactive strategies aligned with BSPs.
  • Provide guidance during behavioral incidents consistent with approved BSPs, Humanim policies, and DDA regulations.


Training, Coaching & Oversight



  • Train and coach Direct Support Professionals (DSPs), supervisors, and families on BSP implementation and MANDTaligned strategies, both in person and through virtual platforms when appropriate.
  • Observe residential, day, vocational, and community settings to ensure fidelity of implementation and safety.
  • Participate in interdisciplinary team meetings, personcentered planning, and clinical reviews, including virtual meetings as applicable.


Documentation & Compliance



  • Complete timely, accurate documentation, including assessments, BSPs, progress notes, data summaries, and waiver service reports.
  • Utilize remote work time for documentation, data analysis, plan development, and required reporting.
  • Ensure compliance with Maryland DDA standards, Medicaid waiver requirements, HIPAA, and Humanim policies.
  • Maintain required professional licensure, certification, and training documentation.


Collaboration & Advocacy



  • Collaborate with care coordinators, nurses, therapists, families, and external providers through a combination of inperson and virtual communication.
  • Advocate for individuals' rights, choice, selfdirection, and community inclusion.



Qualifications

Required



  • BCBA certification in good standing with the BACB and/or
  • Maryland Licensed Behavior Analyst (LBA) (or eligibility with active pursuit of licensure)
  • Master's degree or higher in Applied Behavior Analysis, Psychology, Education, or a related field
  • Experience providing behavior support services to individuals with intellectual and/or developmental disabilities
  • MANDT System certification (current) or willingness to obtain within the required timeframe
  • Knowledge of Positive Behavior Supports, traumainformed care, and crisis prevention
  • Valid driver's license and reliable transportation for inperson service delivery
  • Ability to meet DDA and Humanim background screening requirements


Preferred



  • Experience working under Maryland DDA waivers, particularly the Community Pathways Waiver
  • Experience training staff in crisis prevention or deescalation models
  • Experience supporting adults with complex behavioral or medical needs
  • Familiarity with electronic documentation and data tracking systems

  • Hybrid work environment, including:


    • Communitybased settings such as homes, day programs, and workplaces
    • Remote work for documentation, planning, consultation, and administrative tasks


  • Ability to observe, move within, and actively participate in service environments
  • Ability to model and coach safe behavioral support practices consistent with MANDT training
