The Opportunity:

Security engineering requires a blend of technical depth, analytical thinking, and a proactive approach to defending complex systems. As a MidLevel Security Engineer, you help embed security into every stage of the engineering lifecycle-ensuring systems are resilient, monitored, and built to meet evolving threats. We're looking for a security professional like you to strengthen cloudbased financial platforms and support missioncritical operations.

As a Security Engineer at Booz Allen, you'll apply your experience with cloud security, detection, automation, and vulnerability management to safeguard highavailability financial systems. You'll collaborate with engineering, cloud, and operations teams to implement secure architectures, enhance monitoring, and drive compliance with strict industry and government standards.

You Have

  • 3+ years of experience in security engineering, cloud security operations, or securing largescale production systems

  • Experience implementing security controls, monitoring, and vulnerability management in cloud environments

  • Experience with SIEM, observability, or logging tools, such as Splunk, Elastic, or CloudWatch

  • Experience with containers and orchestration tools, such as Docker or Kubernetes

  • Experience writing scripts or automation using Python, Bash, or Go

  • Experience supporting CI/CD pipelines and secure development workflows

  • Knowledge of infrastructureascode principles

  • Knowledge of compliance frameworks and cloud security best practices

  • Public Trust

  • Bachelor's degree

Nice If You Have

  • Experience with Terraform preferred

  • Experience with AWS preferred

  • Experience supporting financial or government systems

  • Experience with eventdriven or streaming platforms, such as Kafka or Confluent

  • Experience with reliability, chaos engineering, or faultinjection practices

  • Experience working in multicloud or hybrid environments

  • Cloud certifications, such as AWS, Azure, or GCP

Salary at Booz Allen is determined by various factors, including but not limited to location, the individual's particular combination of education, knowledge, skills, competencies, and experience, as well as contract-specific affordability and organizational requirements. The projected compensation range for this position is $62,000.00 to $141,000.00 (annualized USD). The estimate displayed represents the typical salary range for this position and is just one component of Booz Allen's total compensation package for employees. This posting will close within 90 days from the Posting Date.
