Description

Reads and interprets complex blueprints, drawings, and specifications to perform a wide range of welding operations. Utilizes various advanced welding processes and techniques, ensures adherence to safety standards, and performs comprehensive quality checks.

Job Responsibilities



  1. Reads and interprets complex blueprints, drawings, and specifications to plan and execute welding operations.
  2. Sets up, operates, and maintains welding equipment to produce high-quality fabricated components.
  3. Prepares materials for welding by cleaning, grinding, and fitting components.
  4. Inspects completed welds visually and using testing methods to ensure they meet quality standards.
  5. Troubleshoots and repairs welds independently.
  6. Maintains welding equipment and tools in good working condition, performing routine maintenance and repairs.
  7. Follows all safety regulations and wears appropriate personal protective equipment (PPE).
  8. May operate machinery including welding robots, saws, and grinders.
  9. Provides mentorship and training to junior welders.



Job Skills Requirements



  • Advanced proficiency in multiple welding processes such as GMAW and GTAW.
  • Ability to read and interpret complex blueprints, drawings, and welding symbols.
  • Strong knowledge of welding codes, standards, and safety practices.
  • Strong attention to detail and commitment to the highest quality workmanship.
  • Physical stamina to work in various positions for extended periods.
  • Excellent hand-eye coordination and manual dexterity.



Educational Requirements



  • High School Diploma or equivalent education.


Experience Requirements



  • 5 years of professional welding experience, with demonstrated expertise in a wide range of welding techniques and processes.
  • Welding certifications or completion of a recognized welding program preferred.



Physical & Environmental Requirements



  • Some physical demand; often lifts light to heavy-weight material. Frequent lifting/moving average weight (up to 50 lbs/11-27 kgs) material.
  • Ability to perform occasional to frequent pushing, pulling, bending, kneeling, twisting, crawling and/or reaching over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
  • Ability to operate motorized vehicles over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
  • Ability to stand and / or walk constantly over a full work shift on concrete (8-12 hours).
  • May be exposed to noise levels for which hearing protection is required to be worn over a full work shift (8-12 hours).
