Electrician JLL What this job involves:

The Electrician position is essential to maintaining safe, reliable, and compliant electrical systems at our client facility in Waynesboro, VA. As a licensed professional, you'll be responsible for the inspection, repair, installation, and maintenance of all electrical systems including power distribution, lighting, fire alarms, and emergency systems. Your expertise ensures uninterrupted operations while maintaining strict adherence to the National Electric Code and all safety regulations. Working as part of JLL's facility management team, you'll apply your technical skills to support critical infrastructure, mentor maintenance staff, and contribute directly to the safety and functionality of the facility. This role offers a stable schedule with opportunities to work on diverse electrical systems while growing your career with an industry leader.

What your day to day will look like:
  • Inspect, repair, install, and service electrical systems throughout the facility including conduit systems, lighting circuits, power distribution, control equipment, switches, fans, fixtures, and communication systems. You'll ensure all systems operate safely and efficiently while meeting code requirements.
  • Monitor and maintain critical safety systems including exit lighting, emergency lighting, and fire alarm systems. Regular inspections and prompt repairs ensure occupant safety and regulatory compliance.
  • Read and interpret electrical sketches, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical drawings to plan and execute work according to specified standards and National Electric Code requirements.
  • Maintain comprehensive records and logs documenting all inspections, maintenance activities, repairs, and work orders using established systems. Accurate documentation supports compliance audits and preventive maintenance planning.
  • Provide technical guidance and work direction to maintenance workers on electrical projects, sharing your expertise to enhance team capabilities and ensure quality workmanship.
  • Estimate time, materials, and equipment requirements for assigned projects, managing resources efficiently while tracking work performed and parts utilized for accurate project accounting.
  • Support broader facility maintenance needs by assisting with semi-skilled and skilled trades work across various areas, ensuring comprehensive facility support beyond strictly electrical tasks.
Required Qualifications:
  • U.S. Citizenship required for this position
  • Active Virginia Journeyman Electrician License
  • Proven industrial electrical experience working in commercial or industrial facility environments
  • Comprehensive knowledge of electrical theory and ability to perform electrical calculations and formulas accurately
  • Thorough understanding of National Electric Code rules, regulations, and compliance requirements, along with state and local electrical codes
  • Proficiency in reading and interpreting electrical sketches, wiring diagrams, blueprints, and technical specifications
  • Strong knowledge of health and safety regulations related to electrical work, with commitment to proper safety practices and protocols.
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Experience with computerized maintenance management systems (CMMS) for work order tracking and documentation
  • Familiarity with building automation systems and electrical control systems integration
  • Knowledge of telephone and communications equipment installation and maintenance
  • Experience mentoring or training junior technicians and maintenance personnel
  • Understanding of inventory management for electrical materials, equipment, and supplies
  • Previous experience estimating project timelines, materials costs, and resource requirements
  • Experience with high-voltage electrical systems and three-phase power distribution.

Schedule: (Monday through Friday, 7am-3pm with flexible scheduling, plus on-call rotation)
