Title: Sr Sustainability Manager

Location: Seattle, WA (
4 days a week on site )

Duration: 06 months assignment (possible extension)


Overview:

Leads Global Channel Development sustainability strategy by turning evolving regulatory context along with enterprise and partnership commitments into clear plans. With partnerships shapes global roadmaps, mobilizes cross-functional teams, and drives high-impact priority workstreams, including critical regulatory projects, to ensure compliance, license to operate, and advance clients public and partnership commitments.

Daily Responsibilities:

  • Develop GCD Sustainability Roadmap: Own the 2030 sustainability roadmap development across six global partnerships, ensuring alignment to client and partnerships' sustainability commitments, proactively identifying gaps, trade-offs, and opportunities.
  • Cross-Functional Leadership & Orchestration: Serve as the central sustainability lead for GCD, aligning with teams (Enterprise Sustainability, Legal, Supply Chain, packaging engineering, brand etc.) and regional teams on priorities, direction, and execution, while managing key risks and dependencies.
  • Regulatory & Compliance Delivery: Translate evolving global regulations (e.g., EPR, PPWR, Green Claims, etc.) into clear, actionable plans that ensure compliance, reduce risk, and manage cost.
  • US EPR Workstream Leadership: Lead GCD strategy and workstreams within the EPR Taskforce, shaping the GCD approach in partnership with Enterprise and external advisors to ensure compliant, scalable solutions that reflect GCD business needs and avoid duplication and license to operate. .
  • Initiatives & Innovation Integration: Advise brand and product owners on sustainability, and score stage gate projects against sustainability criteria to ensure sustainability is embedded into innovation through clear input and evaluation.



Technology requirements?:

  • Microsoft Office Suite (specifically excel, GHG emission reductions)
  • Smartsheet's
  • Ability to use Enterprise level tooling


Degree or certifications required?:

  • BA in Sustainability (or similar) or equivalent experience
  • Masters preferred



Years experience?:

  • 7+ years of experience leading sustainability, managing regulations, or complex strategy programs, ideally within CPG, retail, or supply chain environments



Required background? Skills?

  • Experience working across cross-functional teams (e.g., Sustainability, Legal, Supply Chain, Brand, packaging engineering) to deliver programs and projects
  • Strong program and project management skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities, track milestones, and navigate ambiguity
  • Understanding of sustainability topics and changing regulatory landscape (e.g., packaging, EPR, environmental claims), with ability to translate into business actions
  • Experience supporting or managing external partnerships or multi-stakeholder initiatives
  • Strong communication skills, with the ability to create clarity, influence partners, and effectively share updates and recommendations
  • Ability to analyze information, connect the dots across teams, and contribute to practical, data-driven solutions
