The Broad Institute of MIT and Harvard is seeking a talented and motivated Computational Scientist to join Broad Scalable Services. In this role, you will be at the forefront of translating cutting-edge genomic research into robust, scalable products that empower the global scientific community.

As part of Broad Scalable Services, you will bridge the gap between initial research discovery and production-level computational pipelines. While the initial focus of this role will be on the development and optimization of emerging single-cell products, the successful candidate will be expected to contribute to a diverse portfolio of genomic and multiomic initiatives.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design, implement, and maintain scalable computational pipelines for high-throughput genomic data, ensuring high performance and reliability.
  • Collaborate closely with experimentalists and product development teams to define computational requirements for new genomic assays and technologies.
  • Lead the computational analysis of complex datasets to validate product performance, identify technical artifacts, and refine analytical methods.
  • Act as a technical bridge between research laboratories and software engineering teams to ensure seamless integration of biological insights into automated workflows.

Requirements

  • PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Bioinformatics, Physics or a related field.
  • 0+ years of experience.
  • Strong computational and data analysis skills are required.
  • Excellent oral and written communication skills.
  • Ability to solve complex problems individually and as part of a team.
  • Experience developing software in one or more modern programming languages.

The expected base pay range for this position as listed above is based on a 40 hour per week schedule. Broad provides pay ranges representing its reasonable and good faith estimate of what the organization reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of posting. Actual compensation will vary based on factors including but not limited to, relevant skills, experience, education, qualifications, and other factors permissible by law.
