Provide support services in the operation and maintenance of an academic or research laboratory to include performing analyses; setup, operation, maintenance and cleaning of equipment; and maintaining stock of supplies. Specific duties will be determined based on assignment and unit needs. Job Duty 1 -
Setup, operate and maintain instruments and other equipment used in performing lab tests and experiments.

Job Duty 2 -
Order supplies and materials as required; maintain records.

Job Duty 3 -
Setup laboratory media/equipment for demonstrations.

Job Duty 4 -
May clean instruments, glassware and other lab equipment.

Job Duty 5 -
Prepare and process laboratory samples for use in assigned tests.

Job Duty 6 -
Perform other duties as assigned

Under supervision of graduate students and postdocs in the lab, the candidate will perform behavioral and video data collection of mice performing open field motor behavior and/or visually guided behavior. The candidate will acquire data, analyze the data in MATLAB / Python, and assist with software, hardware, and data analysis pipelines that support multiple projects in the lab. The candidate will ork closely with lab members on the project, meet weekly with mentors, and present progress bi-weekly to the PI. The candidate should be pursuing or have obtained a BS in neuroscience, computer science, electrical engineering, or a related discipline, and should have prior experience in rodent neuroscience, behavior, electrophysiology and/or imaging, and general research laboratory experience.

High school diploma, GED Certificate or Vocational School Diploma

Up to two years of job related experience

SKILLS
This job requires working knowledge in the use of instrumentation and other lab equipment, laboratory processes and procedures specific to assigned lab. Skills in inventory management and the use of specialized computer applications is required.
