Position Responsibilities

This role serves as the go-to expert for complex RFPs, leading innovation, delivering training and thought leadership, influencing strategy and advising leadership, acting as a spokesperson for major proposals, driving AI through successful change management and adoption.
In addition, this role is a critical part of evaluating the future gen AI proposal tool(s) that improve speed, quality, and consistency while maintaining proposal integrity, accuracy and compliance.


Key Responsibilities

  1. Principal proposal strategy and execution (Complex RFP leadership)
  2. Evaluate/Implement AI-enabled proposal/content tools and workflows
  3. AI adoption and change management
  4. Proposal innovation, training, and standardization of best practices

Principal Proposal Strategy & Execution (Complex RFP Leadership)
  • Lead end-to-end execution for complex, high-visibility proposals; ensure response strategy aligns to evaluation criteria and buyer priorities.
  • Link product capabilities to requirements; ensure credible, requirement-mapped, value-oriented responses that focus on customer benefits/outcomes not product features.
  • Use MEDDPICC data to drive successful win themes, story-telling, and executive summary development; elevate messaging to demonstrate alleviating pain points, achieving customer's critical outcomes through our differentiators.

Evaluate/Implement AI-enabled proposal/content tools and workflows
  • Lead a disciplined initiative to evaluate, compare and measure AI proposal tools.
  • Develop an evaluation framework, RFP, and demo criteria
  • Recommend tool and implementation timeline
  • Migration planning, implementation and stabilizing tool

AI Adoption & Change Management
  • Define and manage an AI adoption roadmap for proposals: identify high-ROI use cases, prioritize, pilot, measure, and scale.
  • Establish measurable success criteria for AI workflows (quality/strategic improvement and win rates, time saved, rework reduction, compliance improvement) and ensure human accountability is clear.
  • Create governance and enablement: approved workflow catalog, prompt standards, training, and quality controls

Proposal Innovation, Training, and Best-Practice Standardization
  • Lead innovation in proposal methods, tools, and content systems; develop lessons learned culture across teams/departments.
  • Deliver training and thought leadership (playbooks, workshops, templates) to scale consistent excellence beyond individual contributors.
  • Champion best practices across teams; implement standards that increase consistency, reduce rework, and raise quality.

Qualifications


  • Significant experience (8+ years) in proposal management, capture, bid strategy, or complex enterprise sales enablement
  • Background in B2B SaaS, technology, professional services, or highly regulated industries strongly preferred
  • Experience operating in large, scaled, or global organizations with formal proposal processes

Compensation Info

The U.S. salary range for this position is $71,000.00-$125,250.00. This range is subject to change as Deltek takes a number of factors into consideration when determining individual base pay, such as location, job-related knowledge, skills and experience. Certain roles are eligible for additional rewards, including incentive compensation and equity.
