Position Summary:
This position is responsible for transferring juice from finished product tanks into drums or totes to support year-round SDC operations. The role also provides operational support for Line 2 Mash Concentrate activities and overall plant production requirements as directed by the Operations Supervisor.

In support of production demands, this position may be required to perform concentrate blending and testing, as well as execute juice and concentrate transfers, including tank-to-tank, drum or tote-to-tank transfers, and the loading and offloading of tankers. Flexibility is essential, as production needs may require overtime work and schedule adjustments to support Line 2 operations.

Additionally, this position supports monthly plant sanitation activities, including full-plant Clean-in-Place (CIP) events.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

Stage I - Conveyor Feed - Sequencing drums/totes to initiate the next phase of operation.

Transfer drums to staging operations via forklift manipulations.

Lifts empty drums and places onto the chain conveyor.

Activates the conveyor through tension of a signal rope, thus advancing drums to the first set of electronic sensors.

Stage 2 - Drum Staging - Drums/totes are prepared for the second phase of filling, while sitting idle after the drums have reached the first set of electronic sensors.

Operator removes lids and rings from drums.

Properly inserts liners into drums and/or totes.

Stage 3 - Filler - Operates the drum fill manipulations through touch screen panels, records production data, secures liners and places labels, seals, lids, and rings on drums.

Responsible for entering lab analysis, drum or tote set points, and drum/cable seals into a computer database and records same information on a hard copy form.

Assist drum advancement through use of a touch screen panel.

Ensures the filler wand is properly intact to the fill station by removing a CIP hose and secured with gasket and clamp.

Manipulates overhead wand to the center of drum or tote for proper filling procedures.

Advances the filler by use of a touch screen panel.

Secures the liner with a plastic cable tie after reaching the next stage stationary process.

Places lids and rings on drum tops.

Affix labels on side of drums and places the seal on top of lid for future steps of operation.

Stage 4 - Final Packaging - Completes the end processes of finished product.

Apply nuts and bolts to secure lids and rings.

Ensures packaging is tamper-proof by securing a drum/cable seal.

Transfers finished product (drums/totes) to Warehouse for cold storage via forklift manipulations.

CIP (Clean in Place) - Through combined efforts of all drum fill team members; end of day responsibilities require proper sanitation of equipment and surrounding work area, in compliance to Plant GMP (Good Manufacturing Practices).

During down-time of Drum Fill Operations, this position support's the Plant's sanitationpractices by performing activities such as: overhead pipe cleaning, floor scrubbing, and other related GMP practices. Performs all other duties as assigned by the Operations Supervisor.

Decision-Making Authority/Accountability Level:

Effectively acquire through-put/ yield target set forth by management. Manage tank space and brix specifications set through production planning.

Minimum Knowledge, Skill, and Ability Requirements:

The employee in this position must be able read and comprehend procedural documentation and follow detailed processes established through SOP & SSOP's; clearly document data both in hand-written form, touch screen panels and through e-mail transactions; and communicate verbally in an effective manner to all members of the Plant. The employee will assist in coverage as needed to safely and efficiently run the facility as requested by the Operations Supervisor.

Minimum Education and Experience:

Education (or equivalent experience)

High School/GED preferred.

Certifications/Licenses (i.e. JD or CPA or electrician)

  • Ability to acquire Ocean spray forklift certification.
  • Ability to acquire ocean spray high lift certification
  • Successfully meet the plant's safety adherence for: Chemical awareness and safety handling, General safety rules, hazard communication & MSDS labeling, PPE, ammonia & H2s awareness, GMP's, pails/shovels/brushes program, sop & SSOP's.

Supervisory Responsibility:

None.

This position performs drum fill activities during SDC operations (Monday - Friday; occasional Saturday/Sunday's if drumming is required). Must be willing to work a different schedule during Line 2 operations to support the success of the operations.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to moving mechanical parts, moderate heat/humid conditions, and vibration. The employee is occasionally exposed to high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles, extreme cold; and risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
