The Department of World Languages and Cultures at Washington College invites applications for a two-year, full-time Visiting Assistant Professor position of Hispanic Studies, beginning in August 2026. This position may be renewed after the initial two-year term. We are looking for faculty-scholars who can contribute to and complement the department's curriculum and engage undergraduate students. Specifically, the candidate must be able to teach Spanish at all levels as well as classes pertaining to the candidate's specialty and/or department needs. The teaching load for this position is six courses per year. The position is open with respect to research specialization; however, candidates should succinctly communicate their research agenda in their letter of interest. The Department offers majors in Spanish, French, and German, and minors in Spanish, French, German, and Chinese. The department's courses also support interdisciplinary programs across the college, including Latin American Studies, Gender Studies, and Black Studies.
