Summary: Presbyterian Hospital is hiring an experienced Nurse to join our team! The RN Patient Flow Coordinator plays a critical role in optimizing patient throughput and ensuring efficient, safe, and timely patient movement throughout the hospital. This position collaborates closely with nursing units, physicians, case management, bed management, and ancillary services to support patient placement, admissions, transfers, and discharges.
The ideal candidate is a highly organized RN with strong clinical judgment, excellent communication skills, and the ability to make real-time decisions in a fast-paced environment.

Responsibilities:
- Coordinate and oversee patient admissions, transfers, and discharges to ensure optimal patient flow.
- Collaborate with house supervisors, unit leaders, and physicians to prioritize bed assignments based on patient acuity and operational needs.
- Monitor hospital census, bed availability, and capacity constraints in real time.
- Serve as a central point of communication between Emergency Department, inpatient units, and procedural areas.
- Ensure compliance with hospital policies, regulatory requirements, and patient safety standards.
- Identify bottlenecks in patient flow and escalate issues appropriately.
- Facilitate timely placement of patients from the Emergency Department and post-anesthesia care units.
- Support throughput initiatives to improve length of stay, bed turnaround times, and patient satisfaction.
- Provide clinical guidance and support to staff regarding patient placement and acuity considerations.
- Maintain accurate documentation and utilize electronic bed management systems effectively.
Qualifications:
- Education: Associates Degree Nursing required, BSN preferred.
- Nursing Licensure: Current State of New Mexico or Compact State Nursing License required
- Certifications: Specialty Certification in area of practice and/or management preferred.
- Experience Required: 2 years experience as a clinical nurse.
