Tesla is seeking an ambitiousEHSSpecialist tosupportthe Powertrain Operations at GigafactoryTexas.Theywill use human and organizationalprinciplesto drive ownershipof safety,healthand environmental impacts, with a focus on engagement, learning from events,training,anda systems-level problem solving.

The candidate will be responsible for complex technical work across abroad range of EHS disciplines with an emphasis on reducing risk, empowering stakeholders, and doing the basics right. They will also ensure compliance with federal, state, and local environmental, health, and safety regulations, and conformance to internal, industry and consensus standards, as appropriate.


What You'll Do
  • Driveone ofmoremanufacturing departmentEHS outcomesthrough leadership and employee engagementin alignment with the businessand EHS strategies
  • Actively workwith factorystakeholdersto ensure that Production and Factory changes result in improved controls of risks to health,safetyand the environment
  • Perform audits and inspections, document results, andverifyactionclosure
  • Analyzeeventtrendsand use risk-assessment methodstoidentifycontinuous improvement projects that reduce injury,illnessand environmental impact events
  • Facilitate investigations from a Learning Teams approach, ensuringworker involvement andthat preventativeactions address system causes and not just individual behaviors
  • Participatein pre-job planning and verification of controls/safeguards beforenew,high risk, and non-standardwork begins

  • Partner with EHSspecialties(Environmental,ConstructionSafety,Equipment Safety, EHS Systems and Tools, EHS Training, etc.) as needed to ensure effective service delivery

What You'll Bring
  • Bachelor'sDegreeinSafety Engineering, Industrial Hygiene, EnvironmentalHealth, or equivalent experience
  • At least 2 years of experienceas an environmental, health orsafetyprofessional, preferably in a manufacturing, oil & gas, construction, or similar workplace
  • ExperiencesupportingEHS program development, training all levels of personnel, and influencing/managing changeto reduce risk and improve outcomes
  • Experience with hazard analysis methods, hazard communication, powered industrial vehicle safety,OSHAcompliance,event/incidentinvestigation and learnings,and corrective action management
  • Familiarity with industrial hygiene, industrial ergonomics, machine safety, environmentalcompliance processes
  • Ability to work effectively and efficiently under pressure while managing competing demandsanddeadlines
  • Experience working with cross functional teamseffectively thanks to teamwork, bias-toward action,front-loadedaccountability, and empathy
