What to Expect
We are seeking an NVH Engineer to join our Vehicle Design Team, focusing on noise, vibration, and harshness (NVH) performance for thermal rotating systems. This is a hands-on testing role - you will design and execute tests, acquire and analyse data, and translate findings into actionable engineering feedback. We are welcoming candidates with early career experience looking to grow. Candidates with hands-on testing experience through programs like Formula SAE, FSAE Electric, or similar engineering competitions are strongly encouraged to apply - practical experience in test execution and mechanical systems is valued alongside traditional industry background.
What You'll Do
- Design and execute component-level NVH tests on rotating machinery including compressors, pumps, and fans for thermal systems
- Design and execute vehicle-level NVH tests, delivering detailed reports on thermal system noise performance covering structure-borne and airborne contributions
- Support powertrain NVH testing activities, gaining exposure to driveline, motor, and gearbox noise and vibration characterization
- Operate and maintain large data acquisition systems, managing test setup, signal validation, and data quality
- Process and analyse test data using MATLAB or Python, producing clear and repeatable analysis workflows
- Provide feedback to vehicle design teams on NVH treatments, isolation strategies, and structural improvements based on test findings
- Contribute to the design validation process for internal fan designs with a focus on NVH performance
- Support the development and maintenance of virtual path analysis data libraries using transfer path analysis (TPA) methodologies
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams including vehicle design and thermal systems groups to support continuous noise reduction efforts
What You'll Bring
- Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Signal Processing, Physics, or equivalent experience
- Foundational knowledge of rotational acoustics and vibration principles
- Hands-on experience with physical testing - NVH, durability, or mechanical systems testing in any industry or academic setting
- Experience with data acquisition systems such as Siemens TestLab or similar (e.g. National Instruments, Dewesoft, HeadAcoustics) platforms
- Proficiency in MATLAB or Python for data processing or automation
- Experience with Formula SAE, FSAE Electric, or similar hands-on engineering competitions is a strong asset
- Exposure to powertrain or driveline testing is beneficial
- Experience with CAN bus or test automation is desirable
- Experience with fan design for NVH performance is a plus
