Job Description




As a Security Officer Access Control in Kahului, HI, you will serve and safeguard clients in a range of industries such as Utilities, and more. Join Allied Universal at a dynamic utilities location where you will help manage access control, monitor activity, and conduct routine patrols while remaining visible to help discourage incidents. In this role, you will support a secure environment through strong communication, professional customer service, and attention to detail. What You'll Do:

    Provide customer service to employees, contractors, and visitors by carrying out site-specific procedures, access control protocols, and/or emergency response activities as appropriate for the location.
  • Monitor entry and exit points, verify credentials and authorizations, and help to support controlled access to utility-related facilities, equipment areas, and/or restricted locations.
  • Respond to incidents, alarms, and unusual situations in a calm, problem-solving manner, documenting observations and communicating with site contacts and/or first responders as needed.
  • Conduct regular and random patrols around the location and perimeter, observing for unauthorized activity, unsecured access points, and/or conditions that may require security-related follow-up.
  • Maintain accurate logs, visitor records, and incident reports, and report access control issues, policy concerns, and/or maintenance-related observations to the appropriate personnel.

Minimum Requirements:

  • A state, county, or city issued security-related license is preferred.
  • Be at least 18 years of age for unarmed roles; 21+ years of age for armed roles.
  • Possess a high school diploma or equivalent.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a background investigation in accordance with all federal, state, and local laws.
  • Allied Universal will consider qualified applications with criminal histories in a manner consistent with applicable laws.
  • As a condition of employment, applicants will be subject to a drug screen to the extent permitted by law.
  • Licensing requirements are subject to state and/or local laws and regulations and may be required prior to employment.
  • A valid driver's license will be required for driving positions only.
