Senior Applied AI Engineer- Creative Systems & Brand Intelligence, Adobe Express

Adobe Inc.
United States, California, San Francisco
May 22, 2026

The Opportunity
Our pillar, Assets and Collaboration, focuses on building foundational capabilities in Adobe Express that help users create, organize, govern, and collaborate on content at scale. We work across asset management, brand consistency, reusable design systems, and collaboration workflows that empower teams to create together intelligently and efficiently.

Within this pillar, the Adobe Express Branding team is exploring the next generation of AI-native creative systems that redefine how brands are expressed, reused, governed, and scaled across modern content workflows.

As AI transforms content creation, we are evolving beyond traditional branding and template workflows toward intelligent systems that enable scalable, reusable, and brand-safe creative generation for both users and AI agents. Our mission is to make brand consistency intelligent, adaptive, and seamlessly embedded into every creative experience.

Rather than building foundational branding infrastructure, our focus is on creating intelligent creative systems that operationalize enterprise brand frameworks, reusable assets, and design systems into scalable AI-assisted creative workflows and collaboration experiences.

This role sits at the intersection of AI innovation, rapid prototyping, creative intelligence, reusable design systems, enterprise collaboration, and agentic creative workflows.

We are looking for forward-thinking engineers who are excited to explore ambiguous problem spaces, incubate new ideas, rapidly prototype intelligent systems, and help shape the future of AI-assisted creativity inside Adobe Express.
You will work closely with engineers, researchers, designers, and product teams to drive innovation and productionize intelligent creative systems that can scale across enterprise and collaborative workflows.

This role is ideal for engineers who thrive in innovation-driven environments and enjoy operating across rapid prototyping, AI-native application development, scalable architecture, and next-generation user experiences. We are particularly interested in individuals who are excited by the emerging intersection of generative AI, agentic systems, reusable creative intelligence, and collaborative creativity platforms.

You will help shape foundational creative intelligence capabilities that can influence the future of Adobe Express and next-generation AI-assisted creative workflows across Adobe.

What You'll Do

  • Own end-to-end system design and architecture across frontend experiences, AI-powered workflows, and platform integrations with focus on building scalable, extensible, and intelligent creative systems.
  • Build intelligent creative systems that leverage enterprise brand frameworks, reusable assets, and design systems to power capabilities such as on-brand defaults, reusable creative elements, intelligent template adaptation, and AI-assisted branded content generation.
  • Develop AI-powered experiences that enhance brand consistency, asset organization, creative collaboration, and reusable content workflows for teams and enterprises.
  • Rapidly prototype and validate next-generation AI-native creative workflows, collaboration experiences, and intelligent creative tooling.
  • Explore emerging approaches in agentic systems, multimodal AI, reusable creative intelligence, intelligent template adaptation, and AI-assisted collaboration experiences.
  • Drive innovation initiatives that help shape the future direction of creative intelligence capabilities within Adobe Express.
  • Build systems that intelligently retrieve and apply brand assets, reusable creative components, and design systems to maintain consistency across formats, channels, and collaboration surfaces.
  • Contribute to systems that operationalize brand semantics, design constraints, reusable creative intelligence, and enterprise governance into scalable product capabilities.
  • Design and integrate LLM-powered and multimodal AI workflows into production-grade systems with strong emphasis on reliability, trust, scalability, and user experience.
  • Develop evaluation and quality frameworks for AI-powered creative systems including brand compliance, output validation, structured generation, hallucination reduction, and consistency scoring.
  • Take full ownership of features from technical design and prototyping to implementation, experimentation, deployment, and operational excellence.
  • Collaborate closely with researchers, engineers, UX designers, and product managers to define and build next-generation AI-assisted creative experiences.
  • Engage in pair programming and peer reviews while collaborating with fellow engineers across frontend systems, AI workflows, platform integrations, and scalable architecture challenges.
  • Operate, monitor, and continuously improve the systems you build with strong focus on scalability, observability, security, performance, and enterprise readiness.
  • Remain deeply customer focused, solving complex creative, branding, and collaboration challenges for enterprise customers at scale.

What You Need to Succeed

  • 7+ years of experience building scalable full-stack applications, distributed systems, and modern web platforms with strong software engineering fundamentals.
  • Strong experience with modern JavaScript and frontend frameworks such as TypeScript, React, Web Components, ES6, Node.js, npm, MobX, LitElement, or similar technologies.
  • Strong understanding of web standards and browser internals including rendering pipelines, browser performance, reflow and repaint, shadow DOM, service workers, caching strategies, dynamic rendering, and modern frontend architecture patterns.
  • Hands-on experience designing and integrating AI and LLM-powered capabilities into scalable production applications, including application integration with LLMs, Retrieval Augmented Generation, agentic workflows, semantic retrieval, structured outputs, orchestration frameworks, multimodal AI systems, and AI evaluation pipelines.
  • Experience designing evaluation frameworks and quality metrics for AI-powered systems including prompt iteration, output validation, consistency scoring, hallucination detection, safety guardrails, and measurable quality improvement.
  • Strong product mindset with the ability to rapidly prototype and iterate in ambiguous and innovation-driven problem spaces.
  • Demonstrated ability to independently drive complex technical initiatives from concept through productionization in fast-moving and ambiguous environments.
  • Experience collaborating across technical and business stakeholders, especially within enterprise-focused environments.
  • Excellent communication and collaboration skills with the ability to work effectively across engineering, research, product, and design teams.
  • Curiosity and passion for exploring emerging AI capabilities and translating innovative ideas into scalable user experiences.
  • BS or MS in Computer Science or equivalent practical experience.

Nice to Have

  • Experience with creative tooling, design systems, template or layout systems, asset management workflows, enterprise governance systems, or scalable collaboration platforms.
  • Experience building AI copilots, agentic applications, multimodal generation systems, or experimentation platforms.
  • Familiarity with MCP, AI orchestration frameworks, prompt engineering systems, or modern AI developer tooling.
  • Familiarity with Adobe Creative Cloud or Adobe Express ecosystems is a strong plus.
  • Experience working closely with applied research, incubation, or innovation teams to bring emerging AI capabilities into production experiences.
  • Background in rapid prototyping, experimentation-driven development, or innovation-focused engineering environments.
  • Experience with observability and monitoring tools such as New Relic, Splunk, or similar platforms is a plus.

Why This Role Matters
