Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Join nVent Management Company as a Custodian and be a vital part of our world-class manufacturing team! You will play a crucial role in maintaining a spotless and safe work environment. This position offers an outstanding opportunity to work in a dynamic and collaborative setting where our innovative solutions ensure a more secure world.

  • Separate recyclables and construction debris, ensuring they are placed accurately for collection.
  • Keep production areas exceptionally clean and sanitized according to daily schedules and as needed.
  • Assist with general labor tasks such as point touch-up and pre-shipment building cleaning.
  • Perform light maintenance tasks, including changing air filters, moving furniture, and snow removal.
  • Identify maintenance tasks and communicate requirements to outside contractors.
  • Recommend measures to improve electrical infrastructure, equipment performance, and energy conservation.
  • Operate a forklift (certification will be provided if needed).
  • Undertake other assigned duties that help build an enjoyable and pride-filled workplace.

Qualifications
  • High school diploma or GED, or one to three months related experience/training, or an equivalent combination.
  • Ability to read, write, and perform basic math operations.
  • Common sense understanding to follow simple instructions and handle standardized situations.
  • Basic computer skills for manufacturing equipment operation and Microsoft Office.
Work Environment & Physical Demands

The work setting includes potential exposure to electrical shock hazards, fumes, airborne particles, outdoor weather conditions, and occasional vibration. Noise levels are generally moderate. Physical requirements involve frequent standing, walking, handling, reaching, climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling. Sitting occurs occasionally, lifting up to 50 pounds regularly, lifting up to 100 pounds often, and lifting more than 100 pounds at times. Specific vision capabilities include the ability to adjust focus.
