Introduction to the job

Shift Planningis responsible forensuring thatthe execution of theweekly production plan is realized. Working closely withmaterial planning, warehouseoperators, and thelogisticsteam, a shift plannercoordinates materialflowandvalidatestime in fullmaterial readiness into the work center.

In conjunction with theProductionPlanning department, working within, and understanding the production process, plant procedures, equipmentcapabilitiesand flow of goods within the facility by providing ready to execute detailed plans based on all constraints, actual work in progress and buffer status daily.

The Manufacturing sector within the Wilton Factory (WF)is responsible forthe production of EXE, NXE, DUV, and APPS systems. TheShiftPlanner reports to the Manufacturing PlanningTeam/GroupLeadand works closely with Manufacturing (workstream owners, operators, and TLs/GLs), Sourcing & Supply Chain Management, Material Handling, Warehouse and Production Logisticsteams.

Responsibilities

  • Responsible for the planning, monitoring, and adjustment ofdailyproduction activitiesof assigned areas sothat the agreed production plan is realized with optimized work-in-progress and stock levels
  • Securematerial availability for planned production activities within the4 weekhorizon,mitigateand escalateshortages,and define and execute structural improvements to prevent material issues in the future
  • Secure logistical requirements and create buy-level upgrade orders for WIP during engineering change process and execution to securean optimalimplementation and production throughput in the factory.
  • Work cross-functionally withlogisticsto coordinate material flowfrom warehouse tothework centeron time and in full
    • Responsible for the report outof production progress,proactivelyidentifyingrisksand impact to output and planned production starts for the next week,andproposingmitigationsregardingplan optimization to the production planner
  • Attend Tiermeetingsandescalate production risks to production planner
  • Align facilities, manufacturing equipment,toolingand resource plan with capacity requirements and drivetimelydecision making for capacity extension
  • Correct plan levelling, batchsizingand capacityutilization, in the most efficient and cost-effective wayfortheoptimaluse of critical resources
  • Monitor and coordinateKanban'sinassigned areas
  • Initiate and provide input to improve cycle times and delivery processes within the factory
  • Navigate and input information in ERP
  • Trackindividualshift planningkey performance indicators, create analysis reports in MS Excel in the form of pivot tables and charts to be presented out to stakeholders,determineroot cause analysis and drive actions to improve performance
  • Activelyparticipateand present in meetings with stakeholders and fellow planners (utilizingExcel and PowerPoint)
    • Be a subject matter expert on 1 or more production planning processes. Assubjectmatterexpertbe the 'go-to' person for the team in case of issues,tracking KPI,training anddrivestructural improvements in the planning team.
    • Lead at least one cross-functional improvement project
    • Effectively plan for assigned backup area when the businessrequires

Minimum Required Education,Experience, and Skills

  • Bachelor's degree in industrial engineering, mechanical engineering, supply chain management, or communications
  • Minimum oftwoyears of experience inplanningand/or supply chain ina manufacturing environment
  • Minimum ofoneyear experience withSAP or comparable ERP system
  • Minimum ofoneyear experience with stakeholdermanagement
  • Knowledge of Lean Methodologyor other continuous improvement methods
  • Demonstrated ability to multi-taskwitharesults driven mindset
  • Ability to work independently; as well as part of a team
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills;demonstratedability to communicate with internal and external stakeholders; peers, customers, natural teams whilemaintaininga strong customer focus and professionalism

Preferred Education

  • APICS certifications in manufacturing planning, supply chain, project management, engineering, or master data configuration

  • There is a potential for exposure to strong magnetic fields, high voltage and currentswithin the cleanroom
  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is routinely required to sit; walk; talk; hear; use hands to keyboard, finger, handle, and feel; stoop, kneel, crouch, twist, reach, and stretch.
  • The employee may occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
  • Can work under deadlines.
  • The environment isgenerally moderatein temperature with moderate to high noise level.
