The faculty regularly present their work at major national and international conferences, publish journal articles, books, and book chapters, and apply for extramural funding. In 2021, the college rescued a weekly community newspaper,
The Oglethorpe Echo, which today operates as a nonprofit print and digital news organization staffed by faculty and students. Moreover, Grady Digital Natives, a partnership with the Georgia Press Association and the Georgia Association of Broadcasters, places journalism students in local newsrooms statewide, and a partnership with The Associated Press has enabled students to supplement the AP's on-the-ground coverage of the Summer Paralympic Games and the Women's World Cup.
