Team / Division Overview

The DWS Alternatives business is a diversified set of business activities with approximately EUR 150bn in assets under management in strategies including Private Real Estate, Private Infrastructure, Alternative Credit, Liquid Real Assets (Real Estate/Infrastructure and Commodity Securities) and Sustainable Investments. The global team invests on behalf of a global client base that includes governments, corporations, institutional investors, as well as a growing UNHW investor group.

Alternatives Coverage is part of the DWS Client Coverage Division and are the Alternatives Specialists responsible for supporting the development and maintenance of client relationships on behalf of the Alternatives platform and will work closely with the Investment teams, Product Division and broader Global Client Coverage Division. The team work as product champions, liaising between the investment/portfolio management teams and the sales teams to drive product strategy, new business development, and client retention.

Role Details

Working in capital formation for US Infrastructure Debt you will be responsible for:

  • Support sales and AUM retention by contributing to the development and execution of an overall marketing strategy for Alternative products through a combination of working as the first point of contact for DWS generalist sales team and various functions across the organization

  • Spearhead direct outreach to new and existing prospects in various markets in partnership with DWS generalist sales team, and conduct ongoing research into untapped target markets

  • Cultivate new and help manage existing relationships with the Institutional Infrastructure Debt and Structured Credit investment community including direct Institutional Investors, Banks, Sponsors, and Consultants

  • Support the arranging of CLOs and other bank lines of credit by liaising with external counsel and negotiating with banks and tranche investors

  • Facilitate and lead client interactions, and present existing / new products to external parties

  • Train and relay product updates to local sales colleagues to ensure full understanding of the DWS Infrastructure Debt offerings

  • Strategize with Head of Infrastructure Debt N.A. and Global Head of Alternatives Coverage on new product adjacencies and marketing approach

  • Liaise with the N.A. Infrastructure Debt investment team regarding client requests, investor feedback on the strategies, and capital fundraise progress

  • Oversee the production of marketing materials necessary for prospect, consultant or client meetings, working closely with marketing review group to ensure regulatory compliance and accountability

  • Respond to recurring and one-off information requests (related to performance, investment strategy, terms, etc.) from existing clients, prospects and other relevant institutional stakeholders

  • Oversee the RFP production process from start to finish for the relevant alternative products, partnering closely with the Coverage Support RFP Team

  • Utilize our Client Relationship Management system and external data sources to run reports, ensure accurate data use and management, and track market trends and competitive intel

  • Anticipate the needs of key stakeholders to facilitate and enhance the opportunity to drive new business development

  • Bring a thorough understanding of institutional asset management marketplace including the processes and "best practices" of selling to that market

  • Build strong working relationships with Alternatives Coverage Specialists, relationship managers, client service managers, and other internal stakeholders

  • Support the broader team in developing strategic initiatives and partnerships

We are looking for:

  • Comprehensive understanding of Alternative asset classes with experience working in a private markets business development role.

  • Institutional client servicing experience with the ability to lead institutional stakeholder relationships throughout their lifecycle.

  • Attention to detail, responsiveness to clients, prospects and partners, efficient time management, and deadline driven mindset.

  • Self-motivated, excellent work ethic, and team-oriented with the ability to effectively coordinate across various internal and external stakeholders in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

  • Aspiration to grow inside the organization and expand skill sets while bringing new and innovative ideas to all levels of the business.

  • Strong interpersonal, communication, and writing skills.

  • BA/BS degree, or equivalent FINRA Series 7 and 63 licenses or within three months of start date.

The salary range for this position in Boston is $250,000-$350,000. Actual salaries may be based on a number of factors including, but not limited to, a candidate's skill set, experience, education, work location and other qualifications. Posted salary ranges do not include incentive compensation or any other type of remuneration.
