DESCRIPTION OF WORK

This position supports the work of Income Maintenance Caseworkers by handling important clerical and office tasks that keep operations running smoothly. The role helps ensure that services and programs are delivered accurately and on time for clients in need. As a Clerical Assistant 2, you will perform the following duties:
- Application Support: Complete file clearances, resolve discrepancies, scan documents, import applications, and update records
- Mail Processing: Receive, sort, scan, and distribute incoming and outgoing mail
- Client Assistance: Greet visitors, provide general information, record check-ins, and collect verification materials
- Data Entry: Enter updates, issue benefits, prepare forms and letters, and process emergency payments
- Case Management: Transfer cases, track reporting requirements, and assist with storage and record maintenance
- Phone Support: Answer calls, handle inquiries, and direct messages appropriately

Work Schedule and Additional Information:
- Full-time employment, 37.5 hours per week.
- Work hours are 8:30 AM to 5:00 PM, Monday thru Friday with a 1-hour lunch.
- Travel and overtime as needed.

- Work Conditions: Assigned duties are performed in a controlled office environment. In counties with District Offices, employees may be reassigned to different work sites due to operational needs. Reassignments will be made in compliance with contract language.
- Telework: This position may be eligible to telework part time. Specific details of the telework schedule will be discussed during the interview process. In order to telework, you must have a securely configured high-speed internet connection and work from an approved location inside Pennsylvania. If you are unable to telework, you will have the option to report to the headquarters office in Allegheny County. The ability to telework is subject to change at any time. Additional details may be provided during the interview.

Salary: Selected candidates who are new to employment within the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania will begin employment at the starting salary of $36,108 (before taxes). -

REQUIRED EXPERIENCE, TRAINING & ELIGIBILITY

QUALIFICATIONS Minimum Experience and Training Requirements:
- Six months as a Clerical Assistant 1 (Commonwealth job title or equivalent Federal Government job title, as determined by the Office of Administration);or
- Graduation from high school; or
- An equivalent combination of experience and training.

- Hiring preference for this vacancy will be given to candidates who live within Allegheny County. If no eligible candidates who live within Allegheny County apply for this position candidates who reside in other counties may be considered.
- You must be able to perform essential job functions.
