Facilities Operations Manager



Job Summary of the position: This position is responsible for leading facility maintenance and infrastructure operations in support of manufacturing, operational continuity, and organizational growth objectives. The role oversees facility maintenance personnel, capital planning, infrastructure improvements, renovation and construction projects, preventive maintenance programs, and vendor management. This position partners closely with leadership to support facility optimization, expansion, capacity planning, and operational readiness across assigned locations.


Essential job functions and responsibilities:



  • Lead daily facility and infrastructure operations, ensuring safe, reliable, and efficient building functionality across all assigned sites.


  • Oversee preventive maintenance programs, infrastructure repairs, equipment reliability, and facility-related corrective actions, including root cause analysis and resolution tracking.
  • Manage facility improvement, renovation, relocation, and construction projects from planning through execution, ensuring alignment with operational, production, and growth objectives.
  • Partner with business leadership to support facility expansion, layout optimization, capacity planning, and infrastructure readiness in support of evolving business demands.
  • Assist in developing and managing departmental budgets, capital expenditure requests, and multi-year facility and infrastructure investment plans.
  • Direct facility maintenance personnel and third-party vendors, including workforce planning, scheduling, performance management, training, and development of a flexible, cross-functional team.
  • Monitor project milestones, work orders, service levels, and departmental priorities to ensure timely execution, cost control, quality standards, and operational continuity.
  • Coordinate contractor and vendor activities, including bid reviews, project oversight, facility services, and outsourced support functions.
  • Ensure compliance with all applicable safety, environmental, quality, regulatory, and company policy requirements.
  • Maintain effective communication with leadership and cross-functional teams regarding facility conditions, operational risks, project status, and issues impacting production or business operations.



Qualifications, Knowledge, and Skills Required:



  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Engineering, Construction Management, or related field preferred.
  • 8-20 years of facilities and maintenance leadership experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Demonstrated leadership experience managing direct reports and cross-functional teams.
  • Experience supporting facility infrastructure maintenance, preventive maintenance, and repair activities.
  • Strong understanding of facility systems, building infrastructure, and manufacturing support operations.
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, building/structural prints, electrical diagrams, schematics, and proposals.
  • Strong organizational, prioritization, communication, and problem-solving skills.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing concepts and continuous improvement principles preferred.
  • Strong computer literacy, including proficiency with Microsoft Office applications.
  • Must possess a valid driver's license and be a U.S. Citizen.



Work Environment:


  • While performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to conditions typical of a manufacturing/production environment, including, but not limited to fluids, fumes or airborne particles, moving mechanical parts, noise and vibration.
  • This job involves working in a professional office and manufacturing production floor. This role uses standard office equipment such as computers, phones, printers, scanners, copier machines, as well as environments inclusive of the appropriate eye, hearing and foot protection.
  • Temperature of work environment may be affected by outside/external temperatures, machining processes, etc.
  • Local travel between Montville and Parsippany sites may be required for this position.
  • This is a full-time exempt position. Days and hours of work are 8 hours, Monday through Friday. At times, off-hours and weekend work are required, as facility related duties and schedules demand.




Physical Requirements:



  • While performing the duties of this position, the employee is regularly required to talk and hear.
  • The employee is frequently required to reach with hands and arms, and to use hands to finger, handle or feel.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this position include close vision, distance vision, peripheral vision, depth perception and ability to adjust focus.
  • The employee at times is required to stand for several hours, walk consistently, stoop, bend, turn, balance, and/or crouch, and move about the facility.
  • This position occasionally requires the ability to skillfully use measuring instruments.
  • The employee may be required to lift, push, pull and/or move items weighing up to 40 pounds.

Pay Range: $150K- $190K
