Job Summary

The Production Specialist will plan and establish production schedules for the facility while balancing production capacity with sales and order demand. They will work with management to create and maintain a long-range "build plan" forecasting production levels for the coming three-month period. The Production Specialist is a leader who will embrace change and lead our scheduling efforts to new levels of competitiveness.

The Job You Will Perform:

* In a sheet plant facility, plans production schedules, optimizing and balancing customer service and facility productivity.

* Schedules shipment dates, quantities, grades and establishes daily production plan(s)

* Communicates production planning status daily to all departments

* Identifies potential problems in meeting schedules and recommends solutions.

* Consults with and advises management on scheduling and production processes and needs.

* Responsible for scheduling machine operations, overseeing, and coordinating all production activity with sales, sales service, and shipping to ensure that orders are being handled properly.

* Utilize Amtech/Encore computer systems to schedule converting jobs according to job priorities and related specifications, while working closely with customer service and manufacturing to communicate production status, required resources, manage overruns, shortages, ship and delivery dates.

* Reschedule workflow when there are machine breakdowns, productivity slowdowns, changes in customer order, or materials shortage.

* Maximize plant throughput while balancing customer requirements and manufacturing capability.

* Responsible for managing the order forecasts and interfacing closely with Customer Service, and sheet vendors for purchasing needed sheets in alignment with sales forecasts.

Operations Coordination

* Coordinating production schedules and tracking inventory.

* Communicate with vendors, logistics providers, and customers to ensure timely deliveries.

* Monitor and reorder packaging materials, consumables and office supplies as needed.

* Perform all purchasing functions for Las Vegas.

* Maintain digital and physical records of orders, vendor invoices, and client interactions.

Accounting & Compliance

* Support accounting functions in accordance with company policy.

* Assist with invoice matching, data entry, and expense reporting.

* Help prepare documentation for billing and accounts payable/receivable.

* Review Internal Control Checklist with management

Qualifications

  • 5 years experience in an operations role in a manufacturing environment, consumer environment industry preferred
  • 3 years scheduling specific experience of a Corrugated Sheet Plant.
  • Strong understanding of ERP software
  • Proficient in the use of MS Office applications including Excel, Word, and Outlook
  • Ability to express oneself professionally utilizing both verbal and written communications
  • Ability to work independently
  • Ability to work cross-functionally and collaborate within a muli-departmental team
  • Must be able to work well under pressure to meet deadlines

Pay Rate:

$60,000 - $ 75,000

Multiple factors, including Individual experience, skills and abilities will determine where an employee is ultimately placed in the pay range.
