APPLICATIONS ENGINEER - VALVES

Position Summary

The Application Engineer provides quote preparation, application of product selection, price and availability. They also provide technical assistance/support and value selection of products for application taking into consideration price and availability, consulting with engineering when required.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES



  • Prepares verbal and written quotations for domestic and international customers and representatives via telephone, fax, and email.
  • Assists customer inquiries on order status, ship methods, tracking numbers, freight charges, pricing and availability.
  • Analyses business opportunities facilitate requests for project quotations and ensures that processes are is correctly executed, according to customer request.
  • Be a technical resource and have the organizational agility to find answers and solve problems.
  • Has a desire and ambition to grow into a larger role of responsibility.
  • To perform this job successfully, an individual should have intermediate data entry skills and knowledge of Word and Excel software.
  • Able to solve routine and complex problems using information sources provided, or by conceptual and innovative thinking, with or without supervision
  • All other duties as assigned.


CANDIDATE PROFILE

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities



  • Finalizes negotiation with customers. Knowledge of T&C are necessary
  • Recommends product or service enhancements to improve customer's satisfaction and sales potential.
  • Has 2-4 years technical customer service experience in manufacturing support.
  • Has a sound, in-depth understanding of concepts and principles in customer service.
  • Acts as Customers' advocate within the organization and is accountable for Customer Satisfaction.
  • Document sales and marketing activities along with tracking of opportunities.
  • Familiar with standard manufacturing concepts, practices and procedures.
  • Self-starter, organized, thorough and meticulous, able to work under pressure.
  • Experience in a technical environment
  • Able to plan work and commit to meeting deadlines.
  • Dedicated to high degree of accuracy.
  • Proficient in Microsoft, Excel, and Access software.


EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE



  • Bachelor's degree, preferably in Mechanical Engineering
  • 5 years' relevant experience. Valve, regulator, fluid mechanics/control related coursework/education will be additional qualifications.
