What You Will Do:

GFT is seeking an Accountant, General Ledger to join our Accounting Team in either Mechanicsburg, PA or Houston, TX! This role follows a hybrid work model, requiring regular attendance in the office.

The GFT Strategic Services team, which includes Human Resources, Legal,Accounting & Finance, Office Operations, IT Services and Marketing & Communications, are essential for managing and supporting the company's global operations.Strategic Services is part of a broader strategy to transform the business and improve efficiency. The support of this amazing team of professionals is the backbone of our ability to deliver infrastructure consulting and design services.

What you'll be challenged to do:

This is an excellent career opportunity for a detail-oriented General Ledger Accountant. This role is ideal for someone who enjoys working with financial data, ensuring accuracy, and contributing to a high-performing accounting function. You will play a key role in maintaining the integrity of our financial records and supporting the month-end close process, while working in a supportive team environment.

In this capacity, the successful candidate will be responsible for the following:

  • Prepares general ledger journal entries, account analyses and reconciliations, including bank reconciliations.
  • Prepares various balance sheet account reconciliations, ensuring records are accurate and current on a monthly basis.
  • Coordinates and executes the monthly close process, including resolving discrepancies and verifying transactions in accordance with close process calendar timelines.
  • Ensures accurate recording of transactions within the general ledger.
  • Investigates and resolves discrepancies between accounting records, bank accounts, and the general ledger handling issues of moderate complexity.
  • Develops knowledge of applicable systems for area of focus, including related accounting rules, and utilizes system reporting to troubleshoot issues.
  • Helps ensure compliance with U.S. GAAP and company accounting policies.
  • Partners with other teams to help identify and implement process improvements.
  • Participates in ad-hoc projects, reporting and financial analysis as needed.
  • Supportsinternal and external audits by providing required documentation.
Education | Experience:
What you will bring to our firm:
  • Bachelor's degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
  • 3+ years of accounting experience.
  • Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel (e.g., VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP, Pivot Tables, SUMIFS, formula troubleshooting).
  • Strong attention to detail and accuracy.
  • Ability to handle sensitive information with a high level of confidentiality.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities and meet deadlines.
  • Continuous improvement mindset.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and all levels of management.
  • Professional, positive, and team-oriented approach.
  • Strong relationship-building skills with internal and external stakeholders.
What we prefer you bring:
  • Public accounting audit experience highly preferred.
  • Experience working in large, multi-entity and/or multi-currency environments.
  • Experience working in high-volume data environments.
  • Familiarity with accounting and payroll systems (e.g., ADP, Workday, Deltek VantagePoint).
  • Experience with Power BI or other data visualization tools.
Compensation:
The salary range for this role is $55,000 - $80,000. Salary is dependent upon experience and geographic location.
