What to Expect
Gigafactory Nevada's Construction team is seeking a Capex Construction Project Managers to spearhead the development & enhancement of high-tech manufacturing facilities & production lines. You will have the opportunity to manage continuously evolving exciting projects with contracting strategies involving both Tesla trades & subcontractors, while closely collaborating with infrastructure engineering, procurement, manufacturing engineering, project controls, commissioning, quality, end users, & executive teams. The ideal candidate for this role will have in-depth experience building high-tech mega projects & be comfortable leading & inspiring large teams.
What You'll Do
- Acting as primary contact for manufacturing & construction space readiness coordination with Factory EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction), Facilities, & Commissioning team
- Serving as liaison between Self Perform Trades Teams & 3rd party contractors, Manufacturing & Design teams to support design development, construction & commissioning
- Performing design reviews focused on construction opportunities, scheduling & writing scopes of work along with purchase orders etc.
- Developing, communicating & improving site construction processes & project plans including understanding construction sequences, determining laydown requirements, negotiating scope delineations between vendor & factory teams, & planning for crane operations
- Coordinating with local Procurement team to create biddable work packages (RFP) & verifying contractor bids against technical capacity, cost estimates & schedule milestones
- Supporting Estimating & Engineering teams to prepare executive funding requests for project scopes & associated changes
What You'll Bring
- Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience
- Minimum 8 years of experience in a role that supports large industrial construction projects in Manufacturing, Oil & Gas, Chemicals, Refining, Pharmaceuticals, Semiconductors, Healthcare, Data Center or equivalent high-tech facilities
- Knowledge of Mechanical/Electrical/Plumbing is a must for experienced candidates or senior level candidates
- Understanding of construction drawings and processes
- Awarded scopes of work, contracts, schedules, and budgets
- Drawings, specifications and execution requirements
- Must have a written and verbal command of the English language
