Controller (Full-Time)

Salary: $150,000-$200,000 + Bonus, 401(k), Profit Sharing

Our client, a leading national provider of construction and building solutions, is seeking an experienced Controller to join their leadership team. This is a great opportunity for a hands-on accounting leader with expertise in construction accounting, financial reporting, and team leadership.

Position Overview

The Controller will oversee all accounting operations, including AP, AR, payroll, and cash management, while serving as a strategic partner to executive leadership. This role drives financial reporting, budgeting, and process improvements to support business growth and operational success.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead monthly, quarterly, and annual close processes
• Ensure accurate financial statements in compliance with GAAP
• Develop budgets, forecasts, and financial models
• Analyze performance, track KPIs, and present insights to leadership
• Maintain internal controls and ensure regulatory compliance
• Oversee tax filings, audits, and union-related financial obligations
• Lead, mentor, and develop accounting team members
• Partner cross-functionally with operations and leadership

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Accounting required; CPA preferred
• 10+ years of progressive accounting experience
• Construction or project-based accounting experience strongly preferred
• Experience managing teams and driving process improvements
• Strong Excel and ERP system experience
