Position description

Position: Unit 18 Lecturer (non-senate)

Wen School of Public Health at the University of California-Irvine is currently accepting applications for temporary Unit 18 Lecturers (Non-Senate Faculty) for the 2026-2027 academic year to teach courses in graduate and undergraduate programs. Professional expertise and previous teaching experience in online, remote, hybrid, and/or on-ground modalities are required. Compensation is competitive and commensurate with experience. Generally, lecturers are offered appointments for one quarter at a time and at varying percentages of time, depending on the number and nature of courses assigned. Some courses are scheduled during the day; other courses are scheduled for evenings.

Applicants should hold a master's or doctoral degree, or equivalent degree in public health or a related field and have sufficient expertise to teach core courses at the undergraduate and/or graduate levels, serving various degree programs in the school. These programs include undergraduate majors in Public Health Policy and Public Health Sciences, minors in Public Health and Global Health, and MPH concentrations in Biostatistics, Community Health and Health Equity, Environmental and Occupational Health, Epidemiology, Global Health, and Health Systems and Policy. Candidates should possess excellent pedagogical and organizational skills. Those with expertise in teaching foundations of public health, health policy, public health management, statistics, environmental health, and/or chronic and infectious disease epidemiology are particularly encouraged to apply.
