The mission of the USC Rossier School of Education is to prepare leaders to achieve educational equity through practice, research and policy. We work to improve learning opportunities and outcomes in urban settings and to address disparities that affect historically marginalized groups. We teach our students to value and respect the cultural context of the communities in which they work and to interrogate the systems of power that shape policies and practices. Through innovative thinking and research, we strive to solve the most in-tractable educational problems.

USC Rossier School of Education's School Business Management Certificate Program (SBMCP) is a rigorous, cohort-based professional learning experience designed for aspiring and current PK-12 educational leaders responsible for business and operational functions. Participants develop the 13 core competencies identified by Association of School Business Officials International as essential for effective school business leadership. Through a highly applied, simulation-based model, participants engage in real-world scenarios that mirror a full year in the life of a K-12 school district business office. The program is delivered in a hybrid format (approximately 15% in-person and 85% online) and includes over 40 performance-based activities. Participants collaborate within a cohort model while applying leadership, fiscal management, and operational decision-making skills in authentic contexts. The program is supported by key partners including Fiscal Crisis and Management Assistance Team (FCMAT), School Services of California (SSC), and Alliance of Schools for Cooperative Insurance Programs (ASCIP).
