IMEG, formerly Hayner/Swanson, Inc., is hiring a Construction Field Technician in Nashua, NH to perform routine tasks as directed by the Construction Manager. This second-level role may support construction projects by serving as a construction observer, making field measurements and documentation entries, and reading and interpreting plans.

You will perform field inspection, testing, and documentation while supporting site and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, or hot mix asphalt. The role also includes maintaining equipment and vehicles, identifying potential problems, and observing safety and security procedures in support of municipal and environmental work.

What You'll Do

  • Perform intermediate to advanced field inspection, testing, and documentation.
  • Perform site and laboratory testing of soils, concrete, or hot mix asphalt independently or interdependently.
  • Attend training to achieve various certifications.
  • Understand operations and identify potential problems.
  • Operate company vehicles and maintain equipment and vehicles.
  • Observe safety and security procedures.

What You'll Bring

Experience

  • 1 years of experience minimum required, 2 preferred, in the building design consulting or construction industry preferred

Required Skills/Abilities

  • Ability to work well in a team environment
  • Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos
  • Ability to write simple correspondence
  • Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization
  • Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals
  • Ability to read a tape measure in both fractions and tenths
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form
  • Must always maintain professional conduct
  • Valid driver's license required with ability to be insured by IMEG carrier
  • Advanced/Proficient in Microsoft and MS Office Suite including but not limited to Word, Excel, and Outlook
  • Ability to travel up to 20% with occasional overnight stays

Preferred

  • Associates degree, or certificate, in Building Information Modeling (BIM), or Engineering preferred

  • Sewer rehabilitation, paving and safety improvements, and municipal infrastructure
  • Site development for healthcare, residential, and commercial clients including National Grid
  • ALTA, due diligence, and permitting across a broad market mix
  • Recent work includes Nashua 2025 Sewer Rehabilitation, Government; Southern NH Medical Center Parking, Healthcare; and Concord MA Paving & Safety, Transportation.
