BBSI is partnering with a well-established transportation company to identify a Safety Compliance Coordinator who will serve as a key resource in maintaining DOT compliance, driver safety programs, fleet registrations, and regulatory requirements. This is an excellent opportunity for a detail-oriented professional who enjoys working with people, solving problems, and ensuring operational excellence.

Position Summary

The Safety Compliance Coordinator will work closely with operations, drivers, management, and regulatory agencies to maintain a safe and compliant work environment.

Key Responsibilities

Regulatory & Fleet Compliance

  • Ensure compliance with DOT, FMCSA, CHP, and California transportation regulations.
  • Manage truck and trailer registrations for a fleet of approximately 50 vehicles.
  • Coordinate MCP permits, BIT inspections, and other required transportation compliance activities.
  • Maintain driver qualification (DQ) files and compliance documentation.

Driver Onboarding & Records Management

  • Coordinate onboarding and orientation of new drivers.
  • Verify employment history and driver credentials.
  • Maintain accurate driver files, certifications, medical cards, and licensing records.

Safety Programs & Training

  • Coordinate and administer drug and alcohol testing programs, including pre-employment, random, and post-accident testing.
  • Conduct safety training, driver orientations, and ongoing compliance education.

Incident & Claims Administration

  • Investigate vehicle accidents, incidents, and safety violations.
  • Work with insurance carriers and internal stakeholders regarding claims and Workers' Compensation matters.

Qualifications/ Requirements:

  • 3+ years of experience in transportation safety, fleet compliance, logistics, dispatch, or a related field.
  • Working knowledge of DOT, FMCSA, and transportation compliance regulations.
  • Experience with CHP regulations, BIT inspections, and MCP permits.
  • OSHA 10 or OSHA 30 Certification.
  • Bilingual English/Spanish - A Plus
  • Experience maintaining compliance records and regulatory documentation.
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
